Here’s a link to a short video show what happen when activating the plugin: [http://screencast.com/t/7e7tgt74]

When trying to activate the eStore plugin, get a fatal error and the plugin doesn’t activate.

    WordPress 3.8.1

    PHP: 5.5

    MySQL: 5.3.28

    Chrome: Version 33.0.1750.146

Please let me know if you need anymore information to help troubleshoot this issue.

Hi, It seems like it could be conflicting with another plugin. Please check the following URL

List of Plugins that Don't Play Nice (Conflicting Plugins)

What eStore version do you have installed?

    Thank you

    Hello,

I too am having the same issue as displayed in the video from @kpdlaf. I have reviewed the list of plug-ins that don’t play nice and I do have MailChimp for WP Form (widget). I wasn’t sure if that was the same one mentioned, so I installed WP eStore on a fresh install of WordPress and received the same error message. Because I can’t activate the plug in, I can’t seem to turn on debugging <shrug>

Please help as I was really counting on this plug-in to be the answer to my eCommerce problems… but instead, it’s just added more frustration. :(

    WordPress : v3.8.1

    WP eStore : v7.0.7

    Thank you.

Hi @ccannan have you try one of WordPress default themes? What theme are you currently using?

Also can you download the latest eStore plugin version following the instructions in the following URL

Re-install or Load a Fresh Copy of the Plugin(s)

Let us know if the above helps you.

    Kind regards

Check the list of plugins and none of them are installed on the website. Deactivated all plugins, switch the theme to a default theme (twenty eleven) and still the plugin is triggering a fatal error. The latest plugin is installed.

That is very strange. I will need to take a look at your site. I have sent you an email to get access.

    Hi @mbrsolution,

Yes, I have tried installing it with a fresh install of WordPress… with nothing else added other than the way it comes from the installer.

The same message occurred across 3 different WP installs.

    1) Dandelion theme

    2) Genesis – Minimum Pro theme

    3) Twenty Fourteen theme (bare bones)

All three are on the same webhost, so perhaps that is a clue of what it could be? We are using a very popular webhost in Australia (CrazyDomains.com.au) so I suspect if it was a hosting issue, you may have dealt with this before?

Praying for a miracle… or I have to move on to another solution and ask for a refund :(

    Cheers.

    Hi @admin,

Replied immediately to your email. Have you had any luck figuring it out?

    Cheers.

Turned out that the server was running PHP in safe mode which was preventing any plugin from starting a PHP session. Please contact your hosting provider and ask them to fix it so the PHP session can be started/used by a plugin.

PHP safe mode has been deprecated by PHP so it shouldn’t be used anyway:

Thanks @admin. Followed up with my webhost and now it’s working. Thanks for all your efforts in finding the issue. :)

What is the specific error message(s) you are receiving, and what steps did you do, to get them?

I uploaded the Plugin to the plugin directory and get the error in the admin panel when i try to activate it.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in …./wp-content/plugins/wp-cart-for-digital-products/eStore_utility_functions.php on line 683

I have tried every php version from php5 to php7.1 and the error is the same when i try to activate

Have you tried downloading, and installing a “fresh copy” of the plugin files?

Are you using a commercial hosting company, or are you trying to “roll your own” server?

The error you are getting is a PHP error. You get this error when your server is using a very old version of PHP. It is failing to under some syntax which has been introduced in newer versions of PHP.

Our plugins are fully compatible with PHP5.4+ and PHP7.

    Who is your hosting provider?
