This seems related to another support question on here, but the solution there doesn’t quite apply to this one as it’s not a “sale” through paypal but rather just a free registration.
I get “Dear WordPress” in my followup email and aWeber shows that my site’s main email has signed up.
So, just to be clear. I registered as a free user with a separate email address, then I received a followup email from aWeber identifying me as “WordPress” and my email as the main email of my protected site, but not the email I registered with.
I checked the parser settings – they seem fine for sure. However, for some reason, the “test” button in aWeber doesn’t seem to work (nothing happens when I press it). I don’t have “enable all lists in this account” checked as for the moment I only have the one followup email in there.
Any ideas?

February 11, 2012 at 11:14 pm #41835adminKeymasterIt means the integration is still missing a step or two (you need to do exactly what the documentation says). This post will help you figure out what is missing:

February 13, 2012 at 2:50 pm #41836pauley13MemberThanks for your reply!
It seems it was working all along, but ONLY for paying customers – but not for ordinary registrations to the list. Also, I don’t use the eStore plugin, so I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it.
So now the problem is: free registrations don’t seem to work with aWeber. Are they meant to?
thanks paul
February 13, 2012 at 5:37 pm #41837pauley13MemberHi there,
One more thing, just to clarify:
If you would, please look at these graphic representations of what I did so far.
1. [http://seolater.net/emember01.jpg] – BUY from WP-based sales page then PayPal then get aWeber to follow up. ALL three levels work, PayPal processes, eMember stores the new buyer, aWeber sends follow-up. GREAT!
2. [http://seolater.net/emember02.jpg] – FREE REF from WP-based sales page then get aWeber to follow up. Only the eMember part works, aWeber doesn’t register the free member and thus no followup. CAN IT BE DONE?
3. [http://seolater.net/emember03.jpg] – BUY from an EXTERNAL sales page (not within WP) then PayPal then eMember then get aWeber to follow up. Can’t find a way to get it to work like this. IS THERE A WORKAROUND?
4. [http://seolater.net/emember04.jpg] – BUY from an EXTERNAL sales page (not within WP) send to a setup like the above scenario 1 – then it works. But – there’s that extra step. IS THIS THE ONLY WORKAROUND?
I have read just about all the forum posts and links you’ve sent me before. I must be missing something, but am not sure what.
Are you able to throw any light on the above for me?
Thanks in advance,
Best paul
February 14, 2012 at 3:01 am #41838adminKeymasterIf you are using a PayPal button (for membership payment) on an external page then you simply have to follow this same process of creating the PayPal button so you can connect it with eMember:
How to Use a Simple PayPal Payment Button to Accept Membership Payment
For #3 and #4, the process is the same. Have you done that?

I’ve tried all that, but am still a bit stuck. Clearly I’m missing something trivial and minor – but critical, LOL.
I’ll keep trying and if I’m still stuck, I’ll see if I can get you to help me once more.
cheers paul

February 21, 2012 at 2:51 pm #41842pauley13MemberJust to let you know, I got everything to work finally – ALL the scenarios too! woohoo!
The culprit was the checkmark in aWeber (enable all lists). It was showing up as OK, but wasn’t. Re-clicking and saving – saved the day.
Thanks for all your help!
