Hi, I am having some problems with customers not able to unzip their (~50Mb) downloaded file. The problem started recently with the very same files people have been downloading for a year. They get ‘corrupted archive’ when trying to unzip, this happens intermittently and depending on their location. If I give them a direct link instead of the encrypted one, same thing happens. But, I can download the same file myself without any problem. For all these reasons, and after reading all the related threads here, I think the culprit is the hosting and not the estore plugin. I believe there are packets lost when my hosting is overloaded, depending on location, Internet connection quality, time of the day etc.
I believe that using a download manager, with the ability to resume download and ensure all the packets are retrieved would greatly reduce the problem.
My questions are, 1) can I suggest my customers to use a download manager, would it work with the encrypted link they receive?? 2) Do you also believe this method would reduce the problem and 3) Could you suggest a good freeware download manager? I am on Linux only at the moment and I can not test Windows/Mac software. Thanks!
Do not use a download manager. The correct, recommended solution is use of the eStore native Amazon S3 integration feature.

Customers who have switched to S3 report no more problems. The first year of service is free, and the typical fee is less than $1 a month.
Got it, thanks!
