Okay. I just disabled the plugin, re-uploaded the files, re-enabled, (all with the other plugins disabled, and twenty-ten activated) and still nothing.
The fact that it behaves identical suggests that either there’s something messed up in WP/the database, or in the plugin itself. Could I have gotten a bad download?
December 8, 2010 at 6:00 pm in reply to: Doesn't go to Paypal for payment (probably a theme conflict) #27192the_FiddlerMemberJust switched to twenty-ten theme and disabled all plugins. Still doesn’t work. Something must be really wrong!
December 8, 2010 at 5:18 pm in reply to: Doesn't go to Paypal for payment (probably a theme conflict) #27190the_FiddlerMemberJust tried that, and no, that doesn’t fix it. So I guess its not a theme issue.
December 8, 2010 at 4:25 pm in reply to: Doesn't go to Paypal for payment (probably a theme conflict) #27188the_FiddlerMemberWP Super Cache is installed, but not activated. So no, there’s no caching running on the site.
the_FiddlerMemberYou’ve seen it now, right? I’d like to switch to fancy 1, as that looks better than fancy 2 as long as the variations don’t appear in the description area, and the button doesn’t appear in the footer. If you change this in a future update, let me know, as I’d really prefer fancy 2.
November 30, 2010 at 8:09 pm in reply to: WPeStore killing the Theme Junkie Featured News Slider #25856the_FiddlerMemberThe Fancy Redirection was already disabled. But I also disabled the Lightbox effect, and that fixed it! Thanks so much.
November 27, 2010 at 5:44 pm in reply to: WPeStore killing the Theme Junkie Featured News Slider #25854the_FiddlerMemberHi, I’m having this same problem. Its just an image slider, and the theme is by a different developer/company. I’m almost certain its a jQuery conflict, but know very little about java. I’ve contacted the theme’s dev over and over, but so far the only thing they’ve told me to try has not worked. So I’m turning to you. I’m happy to give you login credentials or whatever you need. Fixing the slider is one of the final things I need to do to prepare this site for launch. [http://fiddlermedical.com]
Thanks.
the_FiddlerMemberThis is the response I got from Paypal:
Thanks for your question regarding subscriptions. If you have an
existing button on your site and you sign up for enhanced recurring
payments you would want to make a new subscription button so that you
are able to update your site, it will not happen automatically. You
should be able to use the standard subscribe button for normal
subscriptions or enhanced recurring payments. Here is some info about
the differences with enhanced recurring payments.
The Enhanced Recurring Payments service is a premium option for Website
Payments Standard merchants who use Recurring Payments and
Subscriptions.
Enhanced Recurring Payments options include these 3 product categories:
1. Guest Checkout – enables buyers to pay for recurring subscriptions
using a credit card instead of a PayPal account.
2. Installment Plans – similar to a flexible payment plan that allows
your customer to make a purchase from you and pay you in 4 or fewer
installments — e.g., $1K after 15 days, $2K after 30 days and $3K after
60 days
Why use Installment Plans? Customers are more likely to buy
certain products and services if they can pay you in deferred
installments. The advanced features in our Installment Plans allow you
to sell a product, and then charge up to four installments within 12
months.
For example, a customer buying furniture can pay 50% after 15
days, 25% after 30 days, and the balance after 60 days. The money is
automatically transferred from their credit card or PayPal account, and
you’ll receive an email notification when each installment is paid to
you.
Installment plans do not allow you to charge interest or fees.
3. Automatic Billing – automatic billing allows you to charge your
customer’s PayPal account, bank account, credit card, or debit card on a
regular basis for an agreed-upon amount.
Why use Automatic Billing? You can use automatic billing when your
customer’s payment amount varies each week or month, like your utility
bill. You and your buyer agree on the maximum amount, as well as the
duration of payments. You automatically receive the money from your
buyer for the duration of your billing terms.
I’m not totally sure I follow, but it sounds like your plugin should work, right?
the_FiddlerMemberAnd that the subscribe button appear in the footer, as it does on the example page.
the_FiddlerMemberOkay, thank you. I’ll do that. Thanks again for your excellent support and plugins.
the_FiddlerMemberYeah, sorry. Here’s the page: http://fiddlermedical.com/medical-online-marketing-websites/sign-up-now/
I’d just prefer that those 3 options stay inside the table near the description.
the_FiddlerMemberJust waiting for an answer before I sign up for it. If you have no idea, and don’t want to sign up just to test, I’d be happy to test it during the trial period, and let you know (but my knowledge of Paypal and all that isn’t very advanced, so I’m not sure how helpful my feedback would be if it doesn’t go smoothly).
the_FiddlerMemberThanks! It works great. All except style=2 doesn’t keep the variations inside the table with the description, etc. I was hoping it would. Not something I expect you to change, but if you’re ever looking at changes there, I’d suggest it. Variations (in my mind) are part of the product, and therefore should appear in the table with the product itself.
Also, have you seen my other thread on Paypal’s Enhanced Recurring Payments: https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/paypal-enhanced-recurring-payments?
the_FiddlerMemberOkay, cool! That would be perfect!
the_FiddlerMemberSo if I understand correctly, using variation amounts will just add to the subscription amount, right? So for example if my base subscription is $20/month, and variation 1 is $5, then anyone who selects variation 1 will pay $25/month for the life the the subscription. Is this correct?
If so, is there a way to add variations that are a one time fee, only? Like how the trial fee can be one-time? I don’t have a trial fee, but would like to add some variations to the product that are a one-time thing. Is this possible? Or is the only option to have another product that includes the one-time fee as the trial? Using the above example for this senario: One product is $20/month; a 2nd product is $20/month, but with a $25 trial period fee the 1st month.
Please let me know, and thanks for the great plugins!
