When I click the subscribe button on any of my products, such as this one: http://fiddlerstudios.com/business-websites-online-marketing-seo/premiere-website/ nothing happens, the page flashes briefly in Chrome but stays on the page and does nothing in IE. I’ve carefully checked my settings and everything is nearly identical to my other site (fiddlermedical.com) which works fine, so I’m assuming its a theme (or perhaps plugin?) conflict of some sort.
I tried enabling debugging, but the log file was empty, so it isn’t even going far enough to put any info in there. I did notice one thing: I have the option for a terms and conditions page checked, but its not showing up in the product area like it should. Maybe its another symptom of the problem?
December 8, 2010 at 2:53 pm #27187wzpModeratorYou using any kind of caching on your site? If so, does disabling it make any difference?
December 8, 2010 at 4:25 pm #27188the_FiddlerMemberWP Super Cache is installed, but not activated. So no, there’s no caching running on the site.
December 8, 2010 at 4:36 pm #27189wzpModeratorIf you temporarily change to the 2010 theme, is the result different?
December 8, 2010 at 5:18 pm #27190the_FiddlerMemberJust tried that, and no, that doesn’t fix it. So I guess its not a theme issue.
December 8, 2010 at 5:34 pm #27191wzpModeratorHave you tried disabling the other plugins, one by one, and retesting?
December 8, 2010 at 6:00 pm #27192the_FiddlerMemberJust switched to twenty-ten theme and disabled all plugins. Still doesn’t work. Something must be really wrong!
December 8, 2010 at 6:03 pm #27193wzpModerator5:01 AM in Australia. Maybe Amin might have a clue, later.
December 8, 2010 at 6:05 pm #27194the_FiddlerMemberOkay. I just disabled the plugin, re-uploaded the files, re-enabled, (all with the other plugins disabled, and twenty-ten activated) and still nothing.
The fact that it behaves identical suggests that either there’s something messed up in WP/the database, or in the plugin itself. Could I have gotten a bad download?
December 8, 2010 at 6:15 pm #27195wzpModeratorYou can get a “fresh” copy of the latest files from here…

December 8, 2010 at 6:44 pm #27196the_FiddlerMemberYeah, that’s how I got the one I’ve been using. But to be sure I just downloaded again. Disabled and deleted the plugin entirely, then uploaded again, re-activated, and still nothing.
Just to recap for Amin: eStore plugin seems to work fine for everything, except when the user actually clicks the button to go to Paypal to complete the sign-up (subscription) process. It just doesn’t react. It seems to work on something, then just stays on the product page.
I’ve tried disabling all other plugins and switching to the twenty-ten theme, and nothing changes. I’ve also re-downloaded the plugin, deleted the existing files, and uploaded them fresh from the new download. This has no effect either.
I’m happy to provide login credentials if needed.
EDIT: I just used the plugin WP-Cleanup to cut all the crap out of the database. Made my database a lot smaller, but still no effect on eStore.
December 8, 2010 at 7:36 pm #27197wzpModeratorWP eStore -> Settings -> Payment Gateway Settings -> PayPal Settings -> Use PayPal Payment Gateway -> Checked?
December 8, 2010 at 9:24 pm #27198the_FiddlerMemberYes
EDIT: just updated to WP 3.0.3 without issue, but nothing changed with eStore, still broken.
December 8, 2010 at 11:23 pm #27199amin007ParticipantDo you have the following option checked in the settings menu of eStore?
Enable Fancy Redirection On Checkout
December 8, 2010 at 11:29 pm #27200the_FiddlerMemberOkay, I think I’ve fixed it! I’m not sure what was up by I got looking at my other site which has a nearly identical subscription item. The source was entirely different. I started thinking about what was different as far as how I setup the two. The only thing I could think of was the shortcode. So I changed it to use the same shortcode as on my other site. At first this didn’t do anything, because I didn’t have the extra shortcodes plugin installed. Once I did that, it started working. So I’m not sure what was wrong, but I must’ve been using the wrong shortcode.
EDIT: Amin: no I unchecked that from the start, I learned my lesson from the problems with the slider on the other site.
