Another update, changing the download method generated no errors except for method 8, where a fail to resolve DL path error was thrown.
SOLVED – deactivating and deleting W3 TC caused some corrupt theme files which were the cause for the garbage pdf outputs. Phew!
peeldMemberSomething is definitely going on, it’s like the server can’t parse the file or something. Is there some sort of library or something that I should double check is installed on my server?
peeldMemberUpdate: I reinstalled both estore and pdf stamper and this is an image of what I am getting:

Thanks,

peeldMemberThanks. I’m looking through and am not sure where the settings changes might be. I did look in the download log and I just generated this:
[11/01/2012 2:19 PM] – Status : Unresolved DL file path = http://www.mysite.com/e-books/ClearMindSample-Chapter1.pdf
[11/01/2012 2:19 PM] – Status : Resolved DL file path = /home4/username/public_html/e-books/ClearMindSample-Chapter1.pdf
[11/01/2012 2:19 PM] – Status : Dispatching DL method = 1
[11/01/2012 2:19 PM] – SUCCESS : DL completed with no server-side errors detected.
But got the garbage output. Any advice is appreciated. The caching plugin is not coming back, it has created mass havoc in my site and I’m wondering if it wrote something to your plugin. I’m actually going to reinstall the plugins to see if that helps
peeldMemberI’m not sure where to post this so posting here. I have W3 Total Cache installed, everything actually works fine. I had to deactivate it yesterday to troubleshoot a WPMU plugin with the WPMU support staff, and when I deactivated it, people clicking on an encrypted download link to get a purchased PDF file got a screen full of gibberish. When I turned the caching back on, everything was fine. Just wanted to report the behavior in case somebody turned their caching OFF. I’m not sure what caused the behavior, but it works great when it’s ON
October 25, 2012 at 4:38 am in reply to: eStore – Squeeze form with free download not working (nothing in error logs) #50591peeldMemberThat fixed it – I was actually experiencing another issue due to this – that random string of letters and numbers is from W3 Total Cache, which til now has worked seamlessly with eStore and all other plugins.
To fix it, I disabled the option “prevent caching of objects after settings change” in the ‘browser cache’ settings area of W3 Total Cache (just in case somebody else has this issue).
It was also preventing updated images from loading from my CDN. Weird that it would be doing this NOW, but there you go.
Thanks for your patience with me, I hope somebody else can benefit from this thread!
October 25, 2012 at 12:38 am in reply to: eStore – Squeeze form with free download not working (nothing in error logs) #50589peeldMemberI know it’s not the theme as the same behavior persisted in the default WP Theme.
It no longer throws the FB.getLoginStatus error now, until I try to submit, then the 404 page comes up and this error:
FB.getLoginStatus() called before calling FB.init(). all.js:52
duplicate in.js loaded, any parameters will be ignored
The first line, the syntax error line, the error is more fully explained in Firebug:
SyntaxError: missing ) after argument list
And then there is a url that specifies the ajax -loader1.gif file in the plugin wp-cart-for-digital-products.
I deactivated any plugin having to do with FB AND deactivated the social widgets for my theme, AND NextGen, which calls FB. I can’t figure out what is conflicting OR why it would have anything to do with this error of the squeeze page not working?
Thanks for your continued help.
October 23, 2012 at 3:04 pm in reply to: eStore – Squeeze form with free download not working (nothing in error logs) #50587peeldMember@petreski – sorry about that, I woke up at midnight PST and realized it was on. It’s been of for a while now. And yes, the very first thing I did was to update all of the plugins I’ve purchased here (which are great!). I’m sure it’s something I’m doing – I tried to see if there was a list of other plugins that might conflict but the ones that are known conflicts I’ve already gotten rid of or don’t have.
Thanks,
Daisy
peeldMemberThis was a year ago – going to be brave and take the plunge to edit this, shouldn’t be hard, but is there a checkbox option coming? My guess is I’ll forget this hack when I update the plugin again
thanks
peeldMemberNot sure if this is the place to ask, but I would like to hide the available quantity but maintain an available quantity for inventory control purposes. I have workshops people sign up for on my site, and if they see there are slots open, they tend to wait to register. On the other hand, I need to maintain an available qty so that I don’t overbook!
Thanks!
peeldMemberGot the email, and it works great. I sent an email but figured I’d post here – once on the page with the embedded media, all I have to do is hit ctrl+U to view the page source, and the actual URL of the page with the embedded media is shown, as well as the location of the source file. Any way to make this more secure/less obvious?
