bear in mind I have shrunk the thumbnails to 100px and made them 60% opaque. This measure is designed to make the thumbnail unusable but still just about visible.
This doesn’t provide a great customer experience though as it makes it difficult for visitors to find their images.
Ideal is copyright protection across a decent thumbnail!
OpenFormulaMemberHI – I cant see where I can upload images here?
OpenFormulaMemberThanks but prevention is better than cure. people won’t want to post images with copyright plastered across it.
Not sure why you are fighting this. All you need to do is either change the watermarking process to include thumbnails or add a facility to add as part of the shortcode.
Please bear in mind that the thumb can be enlarged at good quality so your product fails on two counts!
You are selling a product that fails basic needs and then telling customers to spend a significant amount of time finding out those people that have copied images because of this and then have to go through work to try and go down a legal route or get them taken down!
OpenFormulaMemberThanks wzp
So that makes it even more critical that you provide an update to to enable an © Copyright flash on the thumbnails otherwise anyone can steal full size quality images by magnifying their browser!
I have just done this on the website of one of your clients. Within seconds I had a good quality image just by expanding the thumbnail!
Please treat this as a critical issue for your plugin.
OpenFormulaMemberHI thanks for the reply but I do feel this is still inadequate and does mean I will have to start looking for an alternative photo seller solution if my client is not happy.
I will also not be able to use this plugin in future projects.
I have used your solution to reduce the thumbnail image size to 100px BUT and this is a very big but… All a site visitor has to do is increase the browser magnification to say 400% and you get a quality full size image to copy. I have turned off right mouse click but it is still easy to screen print/grab or to use SnipIt to copy the image.
As a last resort I have made the image 60% opaque through the CSS which reduces the quality a little but I do feel that not being able to copyright text over lay the thumbail is a critical failing of the plugin
I also think you urgently need to update the plugin so that the thumbnails can’t be enlarged (via the browser) enabling people to steel images!

One happy customer!! If only I had the same quick resolution to the issues I had with the plugin I bought before this one that I had to give up on in the end!
jUST A quick question. Will the code change remain if there is a plugin update?
Cheers

June 15, 2017 at 11:53 am in reply to: Gallery Thumbnails not showing in Albums – Only Shows Placeholder Image #75856OpenFormulaMemberHi – the issue isn’t the Album thumbnail as that works OK
It is the thumbnail of the Gallery within an Album page. i.e look at the page that shows all Albums and you can see the thumbnails all exist and look good!
However, if you click on one, say the Hargate Album, you see the thumnbails for all the Galleries within the Hargate Album only have the placeholder image, not the image selected for that gallery.
If I edit the gallery then I can see the option for the Gallery thumbnail OK. i.e. on the gallery edit page for the event on 2017-06-11 (gallery 43) I have selected Gallery Thumb ID:7150
Interestingly, if you look at the page that shows ALL galleries the thumbnail shows OK. However, this is no good as the point of Albums is to allow clients to filter down quickly to their event and find their images. Eventually there could be hundreds of galleries so clients won’t be able to find their event!

WATERMARK / PROCESSING FALLING OVER
So – we are on shared hosting with 1GB RAM limit. I have been working with the host company and they have increased to the max of 1.5GB. This has helped somewhat. If I try to import say, 200 images it falls over.
Since increasing the memory to 1.5GB I have now been able to upload in batches of less than 100 OK. So we have a sort of fix. However, I suspect many clients would be on shared hosting as VPS / personal servers are quite expensive! Surely it would be better to have the plugin throttle back and go at the pace of the system rather than just collapsing? Anyway, it works sort of for now!
REMAINING / MAIN ISSUE – Gallery thumbnails in Album
This is my main issue. I have now uploaded around 30 Galleries (as test and deleting the tests) and ONLY once has the thumbnail generated for the Gallery, within the Albums page:
Click into any Album and you will see the Gallery thumbnail is miissing. This looks pretty awful. i.e.
This is the last piece of work that is stopping the go live of the website so any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

June 12, 2017 at 6:37 pm in reply to: Gallery Thumbnails not showing in Albums – Only Shows Placeholder Image #75852OpenFormulaMemberThanks – sorry – been trying lots of other options and it is random when it works. having said that it is rare for it to work.
So sorry – wtill trying a few options as getting other issues such as the watermark on import stopping half way through and sometimes not importing images correctly, just leaving a grey image / placeholder on the main image!
Will try a few more loads and come back.
Seems very flakey! I was trying 500+ images but have since scaled back to about 90 and stll issues. Hold tight and will come back
Thanks
