February 2, 2015 at 8:30 pm in reply to: Showing the Member Registration Completion URL on the Thank You Page #47487jharriesMember
Hi,
I just set this up, but every time I test I get the notice:
“The registration completion URL for this transaction is still in the queue to be processed. An email will be sent to you with the details shortly.”
Is there anything else I can do to make this work?
Thanks
John

No, I have not filled in the form, but I will, as soon as I get a chance to write a detailed spec on that, and the email tag change. Should get that done in the next couple of days. Thanks for the great support, as always.

Thanks
John

No, the subscriber went into his paypal account and gave them a valid credit card and then paypal automatically retried the subscription payment and it was successful, (we got a notification from PayPal) however WP eMember did not change the subscription back to active. The Subscriber ID in the paypal email matches that in the the subscribers record in WP eMember, if that helps.
We know that Paypal IPN is working fine with member because other sign ups and renewals are working.
This only happens when a subscription payment initially fails (expired subscriber credit card at Paypal), and then goes through on the second or third attempt.
2). Will do.
June 1, 2014 at 7:10 pm in reply to: Inactive member notification when paypal fails on renewal #63417jharriesMemberSorry, two more question/problem:
1). I have members who’s payments did not go through, due to expired credit cards at Paypal. WP eMember, quite rightly, changed their accounts to inactive. But now I have a member who has fixed the problem at PayPal and his payment just came through, about a week late. But WP eMember has not changed his account back to active. Is that right? And if so, is there any work around of fix? Keeping track of what payments are of this type and reactivating accounts manually is going to be a real nightmare. (If buying your cart software will fix his, I’m happy to do that.)
2). I see that tags don’t work in renewal emails, and I get the server load issues. Having said that, we, because we use annual renewals, only have 10 or so a day, and would really like to be able to use tags since personalization, will, I’m pretty sure, increase our retention rate. We could also use tags to show membership type and in turn, use that to make instructions easier for members to understand. Perhaps a flag could be added to give the option for using tags in renewal emails? We would be happy to pay to have this feature added.
Thanks

May 31, 2014 at 5:08 pm in reply to: Inactive member notification when paypal fails on renewal #63415jharriesMemberThat’s great, Thanks very much. I did not realize hat the expired email would work in this case.
Just one more question. I’m assuming that with an automated renewal account that if the account renews successfully through paypal they won’t get an expiry email. Do I have that right?
jharriesMemberOK, this will sound weird but stay with me. We installed WP eMember a year ago and it is absolutely great. We now have a business that works entirely based on your plug in. After you guys fixed a small bug initially, which you did quickly and efficiently, it has been bug free and amazing!
So what am I unhappy about? I’m worried we are not paying you enough. You see I spent years in the software support business and I just can’t see how the $50.00 we paid you up front will let you go on supporting the product for years to come. And our entire business plans is based on WP eMember, without you guys we are out of business.
I would be way happier if I was paying you some kind of ongoing software maintenance fee that would cover bug fixes and updates. I certainly wouldn’t see say $100/year as unreasonable and would probably go higher than that if it included some kind of priority support.
Best
John
jharriesMemberThanks, definitely a better way to do it than the way I came at it.
jharriesMemberHi
I’m using v8.6.3 on WP 3.5.1
I have it figured out, but it is a bit funky and could maybe use some work.
When I tried to change the email address and clicked save, I got a username code can’t be changed validation error even though I had not changed the username. I think this was because the username was blank because the member had not completed his registration.
So using the edit member screen I gave him a username and password and changed the email. eMember then created a new record for that member and made it so you could not edit the old member. Fine, as far as it goes, although a bit confusing. But there is one more serious problem and that is that eMember did not copy over the Unique Reference/Subscriber ID.
So then I went into our Paypal account and found his Subscriber ID and updated his record manually.
So I’m guessing that all is good now and he will automatically renew (we are using subscriptions) next period?
Anyway, no big deal, but maybe it could be made so you can change an email address for someone not fully registered (blank username) since that is the most likely scenario if they put in the wrong email.
Thanks
John
jharriesMemberI have filled out the access form. Great news that you have people up with Thesis 2. It’s a great framework in many ways, but not totally conventional in its architecture.
Thanks for the help.
If the problem is that I have done something stupid, I will be happy to pay for your time.
jharriesMemberHi, I’m using the latest version of eMember, downloaded two days ago 8.6.2. I’m using the latest version of WP 3.5.1. Note that I’m using Thesis 2.0.3.1. Thesis 2 is a completely different framework than the old 1.85, that was released in December 2012. All new architecture, so you may not have other customers using it.
