Okay, I give in. Mercy! Mercy! :-)

I just changed it back to what it was. I guess I can live with that space though it is a trifle too big for me. If I could shave off a few pixels that would be ideal but I guess it’s not worth breaking the site just to satisfy my OCD.

One last question. How do I put a little space between the variations and the “purchase” button on the bottom? At first I was going to just use CSS to push the top margin of the button up, but then it will look funny with items that don’t have any variations. But if I select to made the “margin-botton” bigger on the variation buttons, wouldn’t that also put a margin between the two variations themselves? Arrgh!

Okay, I’ll give that a shot. I figured that the line break might also do that to the variations. I’m guessing there’s no other way to get rid of the break between the price and the variations without losing the ability to keep the variations from rolling over either?

It sort of seems like I’ve fixed one thing just to break another (not a new experience for me that’s for sure).

    Thanks — that worked well.

Now I just need to get a small space put in between the variations and the “purchase” button. What is the css selector that I should use to adjust the margins?

One last thing: do you know why some of the variations are no longer on different lines here?

Thanks for all of your help!

Okay the latest version of the extra codes did the trick. Guess mine was a little out of date.

    Thanks!

Okay that’s helpful — thanks very much. I guess I’ll look into acquiring the SSL certificate and going from there!

I just put in the compact cart code in my sidebar and it’s not picking it up for some reason. The tag is just sitting there in the sidebar:

    [wp_eStore_display_compact_cart]

    Test Page: http://www.spinozarods.com/store/classic-reels/

Any ideas? Do I need to update or something?

Okay — SSL/Security stuff is pretty new to me, but since we’re adding an ecommerce dimension to our site I’ve had to learn this quickly.

If I understand this correctly don’t you only need to have SSL or HTTPS on the ecommerce portion of your site? In other words it doesn’t blanket the entire thing but is just added to that part?

Sorry if I sound like a complete newb on this — I guess I am!

Was just curious if this ever came to fruition. I’m interested in the same thing…

Great, thanks so much. I’ll hold off until then before rolling out this part of the site.

    Hello —

I definitely don’t want to pressure you on this, especially since you’ve been so helpful, but I was just wondering if you had a rough, ballpark timeframe for if/when a “fancy 7” might be put together like the mockup I sent?

I need to roll out the new estore part of our site fairly soon so I’m trying to decide whether to roll it out now with fancy 2 or to wait for a possible fancy 7. Again, no pressure, I’m just trying to get my planning in order :-).

    Thanks!

Okay that’s helpful. I didn’t realize that the browser controlled that but it makes sense. Also makes sense that the theme is fighting my attempts to modify “estore_variation” — I actually noticed it acting a little funny before so that makes good sense too.

Thanks for your help — I’ll take a crack and see if I can get it styled into some kind of decent shape!

Okay, sounds good. Again, not a major priority for me but probably something worth figuring out for the long haul. If I can be any help don’t hesitate to let me know — i.e., feedback, etc…

Thanks so much — that’s really helpful.

One hopefully last question: Do you know how I would alter the font of the variation options themselves? With this I was able to alter the variation type, i.e., “Hand: left/right” where “hand” changed fonts but not the options. And do you know if it’s possible to change the color of the arrows that are on the blue background on the far right-hand side of the variation options? I know this is incredibly nitpicky and OCD of me, but I figured I would at least give it a shot before moving onto other priorities. I can’t seem to find out what the proper selector is using firebug…

Hmmm, that makes sense. So I guess to get this functionality with existing wordpress features, I would have to create special tags for all of the product pages in my store and (by category or brand or something) and then use those tags to allow customers to search for them that way.

The only problem I see here is that it would be hard to distinguish between things like blog posts or regular non-product pages and those for products.

I was just sort of wondering if, on a particular product page, it would be possible to create something like “See other products like this” where I could have a display of similar products — I’m not sure entirely how I would build this and it’s definitely not a major priority for me, but it seemed worth exploring. Something like a more basic version of the “if you like this, then you may also like…” that’s so common on ecommerce sites these days….
