Changed my hosting to a better one and now everything is working fine.
guajoloteMemberWell, for now I am going to reduce the CPU load of my website through various methods.
If that doesn’t work I’ll report back here with the exact VPS plans I am looking at.
Thanks.
guajoloteMemberHow many CPU GHZ would I need to stamp 260 pages within 5s?
Want to make sure I get the exact plan I need before migrating everything.
guajoloteMemberI didn’t have pdf file encryption activated and enabling caching didn’t help.
It actually took a couple minutes to stamp the file today.
I’m pretty sure this is a Bluehost issue (i.e., shared servers + peak traffic hours). I logged into my cpanel and discovered they are throttling my cpu.
Did a little research and apparently they have a really bad reputation for this. There is a thread on warrior forum that is pages long. It’s full of people that have left Bluehost…
Questions:
1. What type of hosting would you recommend so that I can stamp a 260 page pdf in 3 seconds? In an article on your main site I believe in motion hosting was the top pick?
2. If Bluehost allows me to upgrade what specific features affect pdf stamping speed? I used to think bandwidth was the big one, but now I realize there is a lot more to it (i.e., cpu, ram, etc)
Thanks for your help here.
guajoloteMemberDaisy: the same thing happened to me. My site went down and I was freaking out.
It was actually Bluehost’s fault. They ran a security update yesterday that broke a bunch of sites.
I called them and my site was back up in thirty seconds.
guajoloteMemberFigured out how to address #2. You simply go to Settings -> Payment Gateway Settings -> Customize the return button text. Any text you enter automatically gets converted into an orange button on the PayPal confirmation page.
However, if someone can tell me how to implement #1 that would be great, if possible.
