Thank you for your response. With one exception, I have clarity on the issues I described.
Please explain further why the form builder add on does not place data collected into the member information? My understanding is that the form builder is a T&T build.
If the data collected on the form builder is not captured with member information, then the plug in will not be more efficient then what we currently are doing. I would still need to maintain multiple sources of data files for the various purposes we use data. Please let me know if there is a fix for the form builder add on to function completely with the eMember plugin.
Thanks…fred
FredMemberGreetings:
Here is a scenario with multiple parts. I am attempting to piece together what to do that is the most efficient and which will leave little room for error.
Background:
I am setting up eMember for the first time for a group.
We run membership year 1 September-31 August. FYI: we open the new year’s registration for new members starting June 1.
I installed Form Builder to customize each year’s member registrations to respective membership level 2 (2013-2014) with registration form 2013-2014, level 3 (2014-2015) with registration form 2014-2015, and so forth.
From testing, it appears that the registration process is functioning as it should with a few glitches.
I am using email as the username (following what I read in support forums).
I believe that I understand how custom forms associate with membership level.
For example, for the level 3 (2014-2015 membership year) I found that I place a short code relative to membership level ([wp_eMember_registration_form_for level=3]). Yes?
Issues:
I would like to import 2013-14 members into DB and send them a complete registration link for the 2013-2014 year. So far, testing sends these person 2014-15 membership.
I found the CSV data import plugin on Tips and Tricks and will be able to use this once data fields issues are corrected (see #II. below).
My main goal is for members to get their accounts set up with a password they choose.
I will then send them renewal notice in a few months.
We also have board member voting in July; I hope to use eMember for broadcasting email.
I found from testing, that not all of the data collected through custom forms are in the membership information.
I cannot confirm member level (aka member year).
I am not able to see specific data collected for our organization.
The password field from custom forms is duplicated on the form. I checked to make certain that confirm password setting is not checked. I have not found how to instruct confirming password.
Please point me in the correct direction and suggested order to resolve difficulties.
Thanks.
FredMemberGreetings:
I am completely confused and baffled. I worked my way through the video tutorials pausing to complete the action described. I also checked and found a couple of forum assists on minor issues. However, I am at a loss on setup and getting a registration form.
I have the form fields enabled and checked to show.
I checked to make certain the registration page is provided in the settings.
I copied the code and pasted in text tab of page [wp_eMember_registration].
I just simply do not know what else to do.
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!
fred
FredMemberThis sounds similar to what I need. To make certain that I understand:
*I would create a replacement subscription button for the new member year and place that on the membership registration page, yes?
*Following the expiration date, run the downgrade add on to change expired memberships to free?
Sounds simple
