MemberOops, I hope you’ll pardon my excitement (my head just hit the ceiling).
All I had to do was instead, create a custom permalinks structure that started with /index.php/custom permalink here
…and it works!!

MemberAfter consulting the wordpress codex, several online support forums with regards to permalinks and pages, and contacting my host as well to ensure that all necessary functionality was/is enabled (such as mod_rewrite), I am still returning 404 errors when attempting to access the cart with pretty permalinks.
Is there anything else you can advise me to do in order to enable my cart with post name permalinks?
Thank you for your help.

MemberIs there anything in particular that they should be looking for that could cause this?

MemberI found time to attempt this today.
I followed all of the steps and included logging out and and quittting my browser before reinstalling.
I still get the 404 error, BUT, despite deleting all the of the items mentioned above (including emptying the trash), I still found that ll of my preferences were preserved upon reinstalling and reactivating the plugin.

MemberI will give that a try. I will likely not have time before Thursday, so I will report back then.
Thank you again so much for your help with troubleshooting!

Cart returns 404 error again

MemberAlright. I have enabled Post Name.
As an FYI, as soon as I did that, below it, in the open field next to Custom Structure, /%postname%/ appeared.
I have clicked ‘Save Changes’ and am now doing nothing else.
Thank you for all your help troubleshooting this!

MemberHi, sorry, I think our responses keep passing in the ether
I’m going to recap here what I’ve found.
WP Photo Seller’s cart and checkout pages return a 404 error when permalink are set to ‘Post Name’
I have not tested the other options for Permalinks, but will.

MemberFixed! Kind of…
Everything works, when setting permalinks to the default setting (i.e. no post page).
Did I discover a new bug?
cba20k
MemberHi, I also tried resetting permalinks, and that has not fixed it either.

MemberWait…no…now view cart doesn’t work after adding an image.
Now when I add an image, the ‘View Cart’ button that appears in the confirmation page directs to: http://20k.com/blog/photogallery/photo_details/, not the cart and I get the following message:
“This page is for displaying the details of a selected photo. Please click on a photo from one of the galleries to see the details.”
If I then click on the cart menu in the strip above, that takes me to the actual cart…but then the green checkout button doesn’t work (the ‘checkout’ button in the menu strip does),
BUT, I never make it through checkout (i.e. Paypal), I am sent back to:
“Your shopping cart is empty. Please add some items to the shopping cart.”
I have a feeling this isn’t how it’s supposed to work.

MemberYes I can create new pages which work, AND I just discovered that the problem seems to be related to the ‘Store’ page.
When I move ‘Cart’ and ‘Checkout’ out from under store (they had the ‘Store’ page set as their parent), they start working.
However, Store still returns a 404 error. Currently, Store is still a parent for ‘IPN,’ ‘Receipt,’ and ‘Thank You.’
Should I pull those out as well?

MemberShould the cart be located in /store/cart/?

MemberI’m afraid neither made a difference
1. I believe I am using a default WP theme (twenty ten), is there a more default one than that?
2. I deactivated each plugin I had (except WP Photo Seller obviously) and still get the 404 error. I’ve listed my installed plugins below:
– Askimet
– Amazon Product in a Post Plugin
– Disable Comments
– Exclude Pages from Navigation
– Google AdSense
– Google Analytics by Yoast
– Hello Dolly
– iThemes Security
– Jetpack
– Mobile Theme Ads for Jetpack
– WordPress SEO (Yoast)
– WP Custom CSS (it is empty)
– WP Photo Seller
As far as I know, none of those are caching plugins.

MemberWhen I click “view page” I see this:
Not Found
The requested URL /blog/store/cart/ was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
