MemberShould I pull those out as well?
No – you should not tamper with any of the “store” pages at all.
Did you do the permalinks step I described in last response?
I just a tried a checkout on your site and everything seemed to work fine just a moment ago.

MemberFixed! Kind of…
Everything works, when setting permalinks to the default setting (i.e. no post page).
Did I discover a new bug?

Not a bug with photo seller but definitely something wrong on your site.
Can you try enabling permalinks again to “Post Name”?

MemberHi, sorry, I think our responses keep passing in the ether
I’m going to recap here what I’ve found.
WP Photo Seller’s cart and checkout pages return a 404 error when permalink are set to ‘Post Name’
I have not tested the other options for Permalinks, but will.

MemberCan you try enabling permalinks again to “Post Name” and don’t touch anything else and let me know when you’ve done that?

MemberAlright. I have enabled Post Name.
As an FYI, as soon as I did that, below it, in the open field next to Custom Structure, /%postname%/ appeared.
I have clicked ‘Save Changes’ and am now doing nothing else.
Thank you for all your help troubleshooting this!

MemberOk thanks.
Looks like the problem is back but earlier before you changed to “default” I did see it working correctly with permalinks enabled.
Can I ask you to please try another similar test –
1) Set the permalinks back to default
2) Delete your .htaccess file
3) Then go back to permalink settings and select “Post name” and save the settings.

Cart returns 404 error again

MemberOk in that case it appears that you have some underlying issue in your system independent of the photo seller.
Before you ask your host provider to help with troubleshooting this you can try one more thing.
Let’s try wiping the slate clean and re-installing the plugin and recreating all pages. Please do the following:
1) Delete your galleries
2) deactivate and delete the photo seller plugin
3) Goto the wordpress pages menu and delete all of the pages created by this plugin.
4) IMPORTANT: go to the trash menu and delete any pages there!
5) Re-install a fresh version of the plugin:

MemberI will give that a try. I will likely not have time before Thursday, so I will report back then.
Thank you again so much for your help with troubleshooting!

MemberI found time to attempt this today.
I followed all of the steps and included logging out and and quittting my browser before reinstalling.
I still get the 404 error, BUT, despite deleting all the of the items mentioned above (including emptying the trash), I still found that ll of my preferences were preserved upon reinstalling and reactivating the plugin.

The photo seller plugin settings are totally independent of the actual wordpress pages which you deleted. Yes photo seller settings would be preserved, but the photo seller pages would be created again from scratch when you re-installed and activated the plugin.
Regarding the issue you are having – I think you should try talking to your host provider to see if they can look though the server and DB logs to see why some of the pages are not being found by the system.

MemberIs there anything in particular that they should be looking for that could cause this?
January 25, 2015 at 9:51 pm #68109cba20k
MemberAfter consulting the wordpress codex, several online support forums with regards to permalinks and pages, and contacting my host as well to ensure that all necessary functionality was/is enabled (such as mod_rewrite), I am still returning 404 errors when attempting to access the cart with pretty permalinks.
Is there anything else you can advise me to do in order to enable my cart with post name permalinks?
Thank you for your help.

MemberOops, I hope you’ll pardon my excitement (my head just hit the ceiling).
All I had to do was instead, create a custom permalinks structure that started with /index.php/custom permalink here
…and it works!!
