Great. I will do some testing now.
So to confirm, am I correct that as long as the cookie has been placed on my website for an affiliate it does not matter when they come to the site to make their purchase even if it is during a completely different session, the purchase they make on my site will be tracked for the affiliate? I wanna make sure I’m taking care of my affiliates. Thanks again.
bubbakwb3MemberWell I thought I had this sorted out but I have more questions.
OK, so I created this pass through link – [http://www.speakingofpartnership.com/?wpap_pass_thru=https://app.webinarjam.net/register/8500/cf14e594c3] and it works great redirecting users to the webinar registration page. Clicks are tracked and visible in both the clickthrough data and the affiliate portal home page. So that means the cookie is placed for this user. So does that mean that no matter how they return to my page and make a purchase it will be tracked for that affiliate for as long as the cookie life is set?
My scenario specifically is user clicks on affiliate link > webinar reg page and registers > during webinar user clicks on offer link and goes to sales page > user clicks button on sales page and is redirected to registration form (Gravity Form) on my website where cookie was collected > User makes purchase through form and PayPal. With all of those steps will the user still be tracked via the cookie and the affiliate credited accordingly for the sale?
Thank you
bubbakwb3MemberLooks like we got it sorted out. Thanks for the assistance.
bubbakwb3MemberI use dream host. How do I find out if they are doing database caching? BTW – I am not a tech guy so I don’t even know what a caching plugin is? I am on Chrome. (that is where I cleared the cache) I have a wordpress.org site using Podcasting Websites interface. If you help me understand how to check what you are asking I will, just not my area of expertise. Thanks
bubbakwb3MemberI just tried it again and now the transaction is not showing up in either the clickthrough menu or the affiliate portal. Hmm? Ideas?
bubbakwb3MemberThe clicks do not show up in the affiilate portal. Just in the clickthrough menu of my admin portal. I have cleared the cache and still do not see the clicks in the admin portal.
bubbakwb3MemberI have created the following pass through link [http://www.speakingofpartnership.com/?wpap_pass_thru=http://app.webinarjam.net/register/8500/4797f19a55&ap_id=tips21] and it is taking me to the webinar registration page as intended. This is showing up in the clickthrough data, but not in my affiliate portal home page. Am I missing a step or will the total clicks data on my affiliate page only reflect when the customer returns to my web page from the webinar and makes a purchase – in my case signs up for a training? Please help me understand the process so I can be confident the affiliate links are working and will collect the referral data my affiliates are expecting. Thank you
