Thanks Admin for confirming that eMember has been updated to add any remaining number of days to the current access plan.
I’m using eMember v8.3.0 with eStore v6.9.1.7. I’m using eStore (connected to Paypal) to collect payments.
Just to confirm, to use this feature, is it simply checking the two boxes in:
Enable Secondary Membership:
Enable the ability to assign multiple membership levels per user.
When a member’s primary level expires, automatically set one of the non-expired secondary level as his primary level.
Thank you!
October 28, 2012 at 10:23 pm in reply to: eStore – Download Links lead to Page Not Found Error-tried all solutions #50840avidlyParticipantThanks WZP. I did the two suggestions above (.htaccess at root level only contains the code provided, and created the test.php file:
I CANNOT execute the test file without having to use a trailing slash. I also CANNOT execute the file WITH a trailing slash. Both trailing slash and not gives me the following result:
<mywebsite.com>/page_not_found.php
If the above is due to a wrong server configuration, can you please tell me what I need to ask my host to do? I’m on a shared hosting account with Downtownhost (Linux).
Thank you so much for your help.
October 28, 2012 at 3:30 pm in reply to: eStore – Download Links lead to Page Not Found Error-tried all solutions #50837avidlyParticipantI’ve undone all changes I’ve made.
Using eStore 6.9.1.7.
Please see the last post above your response of my update. The problem is with HOW the encrypted link is generated (without a slash that I need). I need the encrypted links to be generated with an extra slash (see example above) for them to work. The link generated through Admin Functions does NOT WORK due to the missing slash.
This is a brand new site, commercial shared hosting.
download_manager_debug.log does not log anything except for my reset date – and I’ve gone through the troubleshooting steps in the forum to get the log file to write. Still nothing.
Thank you.
avidlyParticipantI see that there’s a solution for the OP’s question 1:
1. The first issue occurs when a member renews the membership using PayPal before the expiration date, say 10 days earlier. Instead of extending the membership for another 365 days from the actual expiration date, eMember sets a new “Membership starts” date which shortchanges the member, in this example by 10 days. Is it possible to add 365 days to the existing membership? I have not been able to find a setting in the options.
I’m having the same issue and am wondering what the solution is. I’m offering membership levels that expire every 1, 3, or 5 days (no automatic billing, they can renew if they want). The problem is, if someone buys a 5-day membership, but pays again on day 3 into the membership, I’d like eMember to add the additional days to the current remaining active time and not shortchange the member with a new “membership starts” date.
Is that what the “stacked” membership checkbox is for? Or is there another solution?
Thanks.
October 28, 2012 at 12:27 pm in reply to: eStore – Download Links lead to Page Not Found Error-tried all solutions #50835avidlyParticipantUpdate, some progress:
1. I generated a download link via Admin Functions (which did not work as is) – link generated:
2. HOWEVER, If I add a slash between download.php and the ?, see below for snippet:
…download.php/?file=
Rather than the encrypted link that’s generated via eStore:
…download.php?file=
the download works (and re-directs to my S3 bucket).
Questions:
1. What do I change in the PHP files (I’m guessing) to create the slash where I need it for the download link to work?
2. For S3 buckets (I did NOT set it to public), after my encrypted link from eStore is clicked on, I get the following in the address location bar (to my bucket):
http://bucketname.s3.amazonaws.com/folder/object?AWSAccessKeyId=xxx&Expires=1351426344&Signature=xxx
a. Is this safe for people to see since my access key id is in the URL, along with the file location?
b. Doesn’t that defy the point of an encrypted link if people can see where they’re downloading from and possibly use a bucket ripper to get my downloads?
c. Also, I apologize for the newbie question since this is the first time I’ve used S3 – does this link S3 download link expire? What I would like to know is that even if someone shares the S3 link that’s shown in the address bar, will the person/s who get it be able to download from the link?
Thanks in advance for the answers.
October 28, 2012 at 6:38 am in reply to: eStore – Download Links lead to Page Not Found Error-tried all solutions #50834avidlyParticipantAlso, another problem that may be related: When I try to use the eStore Shortcodes Tinymce button from the visual editor, I get a 404 page not found error in the popup.
I’ve disabled ALL plugins and am using the twenty ten theme for testing.
I’m also using ONLY the WordPress-generated .htaccess:
# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index.php$ – [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>
# END WordPress
October 28, 2012 at 5:58 am in reply to: eStore – Download Links lead to Page Not Found Error-tried all solutions #50833avidlyParticipantAfter doing more reading, I thought that maybe storing my downloads on Amazon S3 could be the solution – it isn’t. The S3 bucket was create, and the URL was inserted into the “product URL (instructions from: http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/ecommerce/amazon-web-services-simple-storage-service-aws-s3-integration-1101).
I cleared cache too for luck.
When I went back to click the link (with the download now being hosted in my S3 bucket), I’m STILL getting website.com/page_not_found.php?file=random_numbers.
Do you think there’s something wrong with how the download.php is NOT being processed? That’s my only guess after going through all the solutions I found with no luck.
September 11, 2012 at 8:43 pm in reply to: Any chance of getting First Data (Linkpoint) added as a gateway to the add-on bu #48624avidlyParticipantI second boldwerks’ need. I have two clients that uses Connect 2.0 on Linkpoint/First Data and would love to see the integration. The WP-estore and WP-affiliate plugins are great (I use them); however, I’ve been hesitant to get WP-members (even though the clients are looking for membership management) because it doesn’t use Linkpoint Conect 2.0.

June 12, 2010 at 6:10 am in reply to: Check Availability button hangs when checking affiliate usernames. #16351avidlyParticipantI have the same problem as phpoet. Is there a solution?
I also changed the location of the “affiliate” directory via the copy method and everything else seems to be working. And I had the same problem when signing up as an affiliate on your website as well.
I’m using v.4.0.
The website is: http://proseocontent.com/affiliates/
Thanks in advance!
May 4, 2010 at 4:02 am in reply to: Affiliate Sign Up form does not pull up register.php, getting error page #20344avidlyParticipantThanks for the fast responses Ivy and Amin but I found the answer!
It was an .htaccess issue – the .htaccess was blocking the register.php file and re-directing it to an error page. I knew it was something I did b/c no one else seemed to have this issue.
Thanks again for a great plugin!
May 4, 2010 at 2:29 am in reply to: Affiliate Sign Up form does not pull up register.php, getting error page #20343avidlyParticipantThanks for deleting the code (wasn’t sure if I should’ve pasted that but wanted to make sure I got it right).
Okay, just checked the permission file and can confirm that it is 644.
I’m not a coder but have been trying to find the answer…could it be a problem with sessions (or does that not apply since it seems that the login.php works)?

May 3, 2010 at 10:30 pm in reply to: Affiliate Sign Up form does not pull up register.php, getting error page #20340avidlyParticipantHi Ivy,
Thanks for getting back to me.
Yes, I just checked and register.php exists in that directory. To make sure there wasn’t an error in the original file transfer, I even re-uploaded it and it still doesn’t work.
I also used the default URL (with the original files):
http://proseocontent.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-affiliate-platform/affiliates
And it gives me the same error, which tells me that it’s not because of the copy method I used to change the link.
I’m stumped. Any ideas?
