It’s an eStore plugin, also not a new installation nor a change of hosting provider. I tested it as per your link above and it was a PHP session issue so I contacted my hosting provider and passed on your instructions as to how configure the session save path correctly. They did so, and now it seems to be working perfectly again. Thanks so much – I had been trying to fix this myself for ages and just ended up more and more confused, you did it so easily! Next time I have problems I’ll come here first. Thanks.
AlisonMemberPreviously I had Paypal linked to my eStore and it all worked fine. Now it doesn’t even though I haven’t changed anything. When items are added to the shopping cart, there is a box that says Update, and when update is pressed, everything disappears from the shopping cart. I contacted Paypal and they checked it and said that it is an eStore related issue rather than a Paypal related issue. It has been like this for ages, perhaps longer than a year – I wasn’t selling anything for a while so I never did anything about it, but now I do have items to sell again, so I need help to fix it.
AlisonMemberI tried that and it worked beautifully!! (Version v2.8.9.1) Thank you so much for solving this for me. I absolutely adore this plugin, and I am blown away by the amount of support you provide with it. If the old version was still operating in some capacity when I did the original deactivate/reactive, would it be advisable in the future for me to delete also, each time there is an upgrade? Thank you again – so so grateful!

AlisonMemberThanks for getting back to me so quickly. I downloaded the updated version, replacing my previous version, and deactivated and reactivated the plugin, but I still get the same error message. I actually tried a couple of times, just in case I had made a mistake somewhere in the process, and restarted my computer too, but the error message still comes up exactly the same.

You were totally right, I contacted my web hosting and they replied “We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. I have noticed that session.save_path path for the account ‘alisonjeanne’ was not setup correctly. However, now I have set it to /home/users/web/b2164/moo.alisonjeanne/cgi-bin/tmp. Hence, the php sessions for your account is enabled. If there is any issue, please let us know.”
The items are now saving correctly in the cart! But it is still not connecting to PayPal correctly. When I click the check-out button, I receive this message: Fatal error: Call to a member function getUserInfo() on a non-object in /hermes/web04/b2164/moo.alisonjeanne/wp-content/plugins/wp-cart-for-digital-products/eStore_payment_submission.php on line 362.
I have not changed any coding. Is this also something I should be asking web hosting about?
Many thanks,
Alison
AlisonMemberHi,
I am having the same problem, plus a couple of additional ones that I think are all linked into the same problem. I have tried both the email address I use for PayPal, and the secure PayPal number, both with the same result. The additional problems I am having are that I can add one item to the cart, but when I add a second item from the same page, it replaces the first item. If I go to a different page to add an item, the first item is gone and the cart is empty as soon as I arrive at the page. Just a further piece of information that may or may not help, I had originally tried a few “add to cart” buttons from PayPal, and they worked fine, but I have since deleted them, and am going with the eStore buttons because PayPal France does not have the option of weight-based shipping options.
