Post any Simple Shopping Cart Usage Related issues here
October 20, 2009 at 8:59 pm #15703lrdezinesMemberI’m lost here. I have added the plug-in to WP, adjusted the drop downs, set the standard shipping, everything and it all works seemlessly. The problem, is how do I get it to connect with PayPal. I entered in the email address I use with payPal in the “plug-in settings”. But when I click on “BUY” nothing happens. What is next? am I supposed to replace all of the buttons with buttons and drop downs I have generated through PayPal? seems ridiculous. I am obvioulsy missing a very crucial piece of the puzzle here and it is mentioned no where. Please help
October 22, 2009 at 2:43 am #15704amin007Participant@lrdezines, I had a look at your site and you didn’t add the shopping cart to any post, page or the sidebar. Please add the shopping cart so customers can checkout.

May 11, 2019 at 9:34 am #15706adminKeymasterHi Jeff, That usually happens if the paypal account that you are using is in a pending state. Meaning the verification process of the paypal account hasn’t completed. Or some value entered in the configuration is incorrect. Let me first check your add to cart button so I can inspect it. Please share a link to the page where you have the button so I can take a look.
January 28, 2020 at 10:08 am #15707AlisonMemberPreviously I had Paypal linked to my eStore and it all worked fine. Now it doesn’t even though I haven’t changed anything. When items are added to the shopping cart, there is a box that says Update, and when update is pressed, everything disappears from the shopping cart. I contacted Paypal and they checked it and said that it is an eStore related issue rather than a Paypal related issue. It has been like this for ages, perhaps longer than a year – I wasn’t selling anything for a while so I never did anything about it, but now I do have items to sell again, so I need help to fix it.
January 29, 2020 at 2:39 am #15708wzpModeratorAre you using >eStore or the Simple Shopping Cart plugin?

Is this a new installation, or change of hosting provider? In either case, please perform this test procedure:

January 30, 2020 at 1:26 am #15709adminKeymasterLooks like a PHP Session or a caching issue on your site. Can you post the URL of the page where I can go and see this in action (so I can inspect it)?
February 7, 2020 at 9:58 am #15710AlisonMemberIt’s an eStore plugin, also not a new installation nor a change of hosting provider. I tested it as per your link above and it was a PHP session issue so I contacted my hosting provider and passed on your instructions as to how configure the session save path correctly. They did so, and now it seems to be working perfectly again. Thanks so much – I had been trying to fix this myself for ages and just ended up more and more confused, you did it so easily! Next time I have problems I’ll come here first. Thanks.
February 7, 2020 at 11:39 pm #15711adminKeymasterGlad to hear that your hosting provider was able to fix this.
February 12, 2020 at 8:46 pm #15712Sab51MemberHi, there
I followed all the instructions provided through video. I even reconnect my PayPal account twice, tried it on Incognito window. I’m able to add a product in my cart, press the PP checkout then when it tries to open PP,I always have the error:
“Things don’t appear to be working at the moment. Please try again later.”
Thank you for your help!
February 12, 2020 at 10:56 pm #15713adminKeymasterPlease post the URL where I can go and use the button. Then I will be able to inspect things and see what is going wrong on this site.
February 13, 2020 at 8:17 am #15714Sab51MemberHi,
Thank you for your reply.
I created a duplicate page of the shop with a couple of items for testing purpose.
This is the link: sabrinathedigitalwitch.com/testing-shop-2
Thank you for your time!
February 14, 2020 at 12:31 am #15715adminKeymasterLooks like you have the “encrypted button only” option enabled in your PayPal account. That will prevent any other transaction other than buttons created inside your Paypal account. So you need to uncheck that option if you want to use any plugin to accept payment.
Please watch the following video which has some explanation:

Let me know how you go after that.
February 14, 2020 at 10:07 am #15716Sab51MemberThank you so much!!
I switch off the “Encrypted website payments” feature and it works seamlessly.
I’m so appreciative for your support.
Best,
-Sabrina
