Received!
Thank you very, very, much!
AliaSpectatorWhere would I find that? The only thing I’ve seen that might qualify as a taxcloud interface is the “for tax purpose” screen, and I don’t see anything like that on it.
AliaSpectatorIs there any way to bypass the taxcloud screen for international buyers? Like, even adding a note that asks intl buyers to request an invoice?
AliaSpectatorHuh.
Okay, thank you.
So much for using taxcloud ;(
AliaSpectatorThank you! I will play with this and see how it goes. If I can’t get it the way I want, I will certainly look into a custom template.
AliaSpectatorI have a shop test page that has the fancy 5 on it. aliathabit.com/shop-test/
(in the process of making a shop page and testing the grid displays).
For most things, I want “thumbnails” like fancy 5 with a sentence or two, and the details button to send the buyer to the full sales page (I would love a dedicated “Learn More” button along with add to cart and buy now…).
There are 3 of in a line under a couple of add to cart buttons. You can see what I mean.
Would reducing the space around the details button do the same thing as increasing the space for the text?
AliaSpectatorThank you for your help.
Maybe up to 700px?
Once I can do it, I can play with the optimal length and width
AliaSpectatorMy pleasure!
Thank you for all the patient help you folks provide.
AliaSpectatorHi there
Could I make fancy3 (or any of the grid options) *longer* using css? What would it have to say? I’d love to have grids with just a bit more text.
Thank you!
AliaSpectatorThank you very much for your help! I have now got all figured out.
For anyone who is also new to ConvertKit, here are step by step instructions.
How to get e-store customers onto ConvertKit, tagged with the name of the product they bought.
1. Make a ConvertKit (CK) Sequence (NOT an automation) for your e-store product. It can be one email to however many you want.
2. Name it for your product (or whatever you want).
3. In the e-store product’s setup page, put the Sequence name in the Autoresponder field.
This will get the purchaser onto your CK list.
Now we want to tag the purchaser with their purchase, so we can easily see in CK who bought what.
4. Make a CK tag with the product name.
5. Create an Automation Rule (NOT an automation), that adds the tag to anyone who gets that Sequence.
How to do that: In the Automations tab, there are four choices up at the top right of the window. Rules is the second choice. Subscription to a sequence is a trigger to adding a tag.
Trigger: Subscribes to a sequence (choose your sequence from the dropdown)
Action: Add tag (choose your tag from the dropdown).
Save.
Boom!
It takes a few extra clicks to set up, but is automatic thereafter. So each product needs a sequence, tag, and an automation rule so that when they get sent the sequence, they also get the tag.
Idk how to add a pic here, but here is a link to a pic that shows this. downloads.intercomcdn.com/i/o/136251798/3b4b07b63365b1bbf946425d/Screen+Shot+2019-07-23+at+10.53.08+AM.png
AliaSpectatorI think I have been conflating Sequences and Automations. For ConvertKit, a Sequence is any series of emails, and an Automation is a series of actions that may include an email Sequence.
Is it a Sequence or an Automation that we put in the Autoresponder field in the e-Store product page?
Thank you!
AliaSpectatorHi all
I’m having trouble figuring this out. ConvertKit automations (their term for sequences), have only a specific set of triggers. To make an automation you have to use at least one of them (sometimes two). The triggers are Joins a form, Is added to a tag, Custom field, and Purchase.
The custom field, form, and tag are all convertkit-specific, to be used with their tags, forms, and fields.
Purchase requires you to select an integration–where the purchase comes from. WP e-Store is not one of the options (mine are Teachable, mailchimp, and Stripe).
I’d wanted to make an automation for each product, so I would know who bought what, but…
I am a little mystified as to how to proceed.
Has anyone had luck setting this up? How did you do it?
Currently no people are getting added to my list, despite e-store sales to people who are not on the list.
Thank you for your help!
Alia
AliaSpectatorThank you for the quick reply!
I will go cobble together a ConvertKit sequence (which I have been avoiding, so it’s a good push).
The tag thing would be fantastic–it is such a boon to know who bought what just by looking at their profile–they can get included and excluded from other mailings much more easily.
I would imagine instead of being added to a sequence it would just add the customer to the list, in the way a form would add them, and in the autoresponder section of the product would be the tag instead of the sequence?
Thank you for looking into this!
AliaSpectatorHi, thanks for having this forum. I’ve also been puzzling over the Convertkit integration.
When you say “sequence name,” I guess you mean to create an automation Sequence on Convertkit (for example, “welcome to my email list”).
When someone purchases from the eStore, they get added to that sequence over on Convertkit, provided we have done the api thing. So far so good?
So in the autoresponder section of the product, we put the name of the sequence only, and the integration magic adds them to the sequence, and in the process to our Convertkit mailing list?
If we made tags for each product we sell, is there some way to also tag customers with the product they bought?
Thank you for your help, O key master ; )
