You don’t need to use the satellite plugin.
Simply create “Pass Thru” links for your “Site A” (the one where users will go for information).
Your affiliates will use these pass thru links to send the traffic to Site A. When a user later purchase a product from your main site (Site , the plugin will be able to award the commission.
No, the affiliate plugin won’t be able to track the AWeber signup done via the normal AWeber form.
September 25, 2012 at 2:14 pm #22462truedogpoliticsMemberHi –
Thanks for your response.
Regarding the “Pass Thru” links …. I’ve read the topic from the link you posted.
On Page 2 of the topic – ( https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/creating-pass-thru-affiilate-links-for-external-site ) in response to “Stiddy” – you stated:
“In your case, using the satellite affiliate plugin AddOn might be an easier solution. The satellite affiliate plugin is a small helper plugin that we developed. You can add this plugin to your other wordpress installs (where the main affiliate plugin is not installed) and it will communicate with the main affiliate plugin to track clicks”.
So regarding the satellite plugin – Since I’ve already installed it on my external wp site — will this still work then?
Now with regard to those “Pass Thru” links – page 1 of the topic is not really explicit on exactly how to create these.
Must I manually create these Pass Thru links for each individual affiliate?
The I should place them in the “Banner/Links section of WP Affiliate?
Sorry for the noob questions!
Thanks!
September 26, 2012 at 1:50 am #22463adminKeymasterThe satellite affiliate plugin works best for when you have multiple different WP Installs in under the same domain. for example:
mysite.com
mysite.com/wp1
mysite.com/wp2
site1.mystie.com
etc.In your case, you are using completely different domain so cookie transferring will be a little problematic. There are ways to do workarounds but using a pass thru link option is the easiest one that will just work.
Yes, you would create this pass thru link and use them as the “Target URL” to create your ad links or banners. You affiliate will then be able to copy and paste the code on their site. You can also teach your affiliates how to create these links if you want.
Create a pass thru link yourself and test it out how it works then you will see how it works.
January 5, 2014 at 11:10 am #22464DonfrancisMemberI am looking for the Satellite helper.
I have multiple products, each with their own sub-domain. I would like affiliates to be able to promote across all of these products, which I am constantly adding, with one affiliate account.
It sounds like the satellite helper would be the answer.
Would I be able to get a copy of this plugin?
January 5, 2014 at 10:56 pm #22465adminKeymasterYeah, you can get the helper addon but first let me verify that it will really work for your situation. What are you to using to handle the payment/eCommerce side of things on all these sites?
January 12, 2014 at 4:56 am #22466DonfrancisMemberI will be using your WordPress eStore Plugin.
January 12, 2014 at 10:20 pm #22467adminKeymasterOkay that will do. Please fill out the contact form on our site and someone will get back to you regarding that addon.
September 1, 2014 at 10:54 am #22468SeoWebSpectatorHi I am setting up an eCommerce multisite and I would like to implement the Satellite Helper.
I have multiple products for which I am using a single database across multiple category sites. I am using WooCommerce.
I would like affiliates to be able to promote across all of these products, which I am constantly adding, with one affiliate account.
It sounds like the satellite helper would be the answer.
Would I be able to get a copy of this plugin?
September 28, 2014 at 3:45 pm #22469truedogpoliticsMemberHi –
I need to offer multiple products (same domain) but assign DIFFERENT commission levels to each product.
For instance “LIVE WORKSHOP” is $97 – I pay $10 per successful signup.
Then the upsell is a $697 coaching program – I want to pay 50% commission.
Can this be done?
Thanks!
September 28, 2014 at 3:56 pm #22470wzpModeratorYes, but only if you are using eStore:

As mentioned towards the end of the referenced thread, if you are using WooCommerce instead of eStore; there is also an addon that allows product specific commissions as well:
July 25, 2015 at 4:25 am #22471ScottDMemberPlanning to run single install of WP in a multisite environment. Would having the affiliate plugin on the main site, capture sales on any subsite if the plugin is network activated? Would it even need to be network activated if the affiliate builds their own links on the domain? Subsites would be subfolders and no domain mapping. I would have one subsite using WooCommerce while the main site would be running eStore. Would like to keep both the stores integrated with affiliate plugin on the main site. Possible? Thx

All of our plugins behave as if they are installed on individual sites. In the case of Affiliate Platform, we do have a “Satellite” plugin that can be installed on the other sites, which would then report sales back to the main site.
Read the following to learn how WordPress plugins behave:
