From time to time I check if the affiliates login is working fine. I had personally joined in as an affiliate few months back and everything was working fine. When I tried to login today, I was unable to login. I then requested to reset the password. I got an email with a password. I was still not able to login using this link.
I get this error message: Security check failed on login.
So, I deleted myself as an affiliate & then signed in again as an affiliate. This is what happened.
• After joining as an affiliate I was directed to a login page and I was able to login. I then logged out and was not able to login again using the above login url.
• I, as an admin got an email message from [wordpress@emoveon.com] This was the message which I had setup for the affiliate to receive.
• After about 10 minutes I as an affiliate got the same welcome message on the email I had registered as an affiliate.
• In “Manage Affiliates” – I do not see my name as an affiliate.
Q 1: Why can’t I login as an affiliate?
Q 2. Why can’t I see my name as an affiliate after joining in “Manage Affiliates”?
Thanks for your help

February 26, 2013 at 9:21 pm #53925PeterMemberWhy don’t you use the automatic request option where you can request the links yourself:

When one clicks on the Signup icon on [https://emoveon.com/affiliates] page to join as an affiliate they are taken to this page:
Q 1. Is it possible to take them to this page which is a fancier sign up page:
Q 2. I understand that when one clicks on the affiliate link their IP address is captured. What happens if they delete all the cookies and then come back to my site directly and make a purchase? Will the affiliate plugin still recognize them coming through the affiliate link?

Looks like you are currently using “option 2” of the affiliate view setup and you are asking for “option 1”. See this link which will explain how to set it up:

No. The cookies are the mechanism which the affiliate plugin relies on to identify the visitor and if they clear them and come directly to your site the plugin will have no information with which to identify them.
