Not sure how to set this up using eStore. I can see that I can set up a series of payments under the subscription options. Does this mean I have to set up two separate products, one for the fixed price $97) and one for the three-payment payment plan ($39 x 3)?
Then I would need to have two links on the sales page?
Here’s a sample page that just has the single price option for now.

I also just saw a note that if a customer buys something on a subscription, then any other purchase they make of another product from our site won’t work? That could be bad!
Looking forward to your response. I am wanting to set these alternate payment plans up over the weekend, before our Sunday email goes out 4PM Pacific.
March 17, 2012 at 5:20 am #43118adminKeymasterYes, you will have to create two products in eStore (one for one time purchase plan and one for a recurring plan).
On your sales page you can use two shortcodes (one for the one time purchase and one for the subscription) and your customer will choose the plan he/she likes.
Customers can buy a subscription and at the same time buyer other stuff. There is no restriction. If you saw any mention of a restriction please share the link as to where you saw it so I can better understand the context.
March 17, 2012 at 4:24 pm #43119DebraPVCMemberThanks for clarifying about the alternate short codes, and this is where I saw it. https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/testing-a-subscription-payment-in-estore
What this means to me is that if someone buys one of our products on a payment plan (setting up the two short codes like you said), then they cannot buy another product on a payment plan.
I have not tested this, but that’s my understanding when I read that post.
March 17, 2012 at 11:52 pm #43120DebraPVCMemberThanks so much for your help, and I have two more questions:
1. Recurring Billing Count – if we are doing a total of three payments, should the number in this setting be 3 or 2 (for the times the payment will recurr).
2. How can I test a payment plan like this? I know it all has to go through PayPal, which is not a problem, and I can set up a coupon to make the charge minimal. However, I do I see how the payments happen in the future? I guess I just want to make sure I am setting this up properly in the first place.
Thanks!
March 17, 2012 at 11:55 pm #43121PeterMemberThere will be no restriction or problem if an existing customer has already purchased a subscription (or payment plan) product and then they later decide to buy any of your other products (fixed price or subscription).
Regarding the link which you quoted above – I think you might have misunderstood the explanation.
The key is the following sentence:
“can only have one active subscription for a particular item at a given time in the shop”
IN other words you can only have one customer email address linked to the SAME subscription product but there is no problem buying other subscription or fixed price items.

March 19, 2012 at 12:27 am #43123DebraPVCMemberStill looking for answers about these two items:
