I don’t seem to be able to add general protection to my bbPress forums. I find protection references under the Posts listing (not in pages or categories). I found my forum titles (type=forum) and protected these. When I click the link to forums when not logged in, I can still access and read the forums.
My understanding is I could allow anyone access to the main forums page, but then restrict access to the actual forum pages to eMembers only. Can I do that? And if so, what am I doing wrong?
eMember is not a BBPress plugin so it doesn’t directly work with BBPress. eMember is a WordPress plugin so some people use it to create a member only forum via WordPress. In BBPress you can specify which user roles can see which forum posts and then use eMember to be the gatekeeper. eMember will only let someone create an account after they make a payment. Ok, thanks. I don’t see a way in bbPress to specify roles that can access forums, but this is a bbPress forum question perhaps, so I’ll post it there.
