Tagged: bbpress, forum, member forum
I saw some discussion on the eMember page about whether it works with BBPress or not, you said you were going to implement that at some point. I was just wondering if it was done yet?
Haven’t done the BBPress integration work for the eMember yet.
Update: eMember can be integrated with BBPress via WordPress
How would I go about integrating the two?
The integration is done via the WordPress user role. BBPress has WordPress user integration. Emember has WordPress user integration. When someone signs up (paid or free) as a member via eMember, eMember creates a WordPress user with certain role that you specified in the membership level for this member. BBPress will read this WordPress user’s role permission and apply forum viewing permission based on what is set for this Role:
Thanks amin,
This helped!
Just a bit more help! I have an already existing bbpress forum which was not integrated with wordpress, now I want it to be integrated with the wordpress and emember and also have already existing members in the forum. Is there any solution to this??
First do the WordPress integration. After that part is done you will have all your BBPress users in the WordPress users database then you can go to eMember’s “Import WP Users” menu and do a mass import.
If I integrate e-member with WP users so that I can have my members use BBpress on my WordPress site, can I use the Profile Display Extended addon?
Yes
