A LOT of the members are getting a message “security check failed on login”.
When I attempt to log in as a member in Internet Explorer, I get the error message. When I log in in Firefox, it works fine.
I don’t know how long this has been an issue.
But it gives some users this message when they are in Firefox as well.
I don’t know how to fix it.

September 11, 2012 at 11:47 pm #49229adminKeymasterThe “nonce” value check is failing (this is an extra security check that makes the login process more secure).
First, try loading a fresh copy of the plugin:

Let me know if you still face login issue after you have done that.
September 13, 2012 at 4:16 am #49230strive4impactMemberAppears to have happened when I updated WP Super Cache… Removed the two settings that should have been in there about not caching logged in users and the init line.
Seems to be fixed! Updated all to latest versions anyway.
Thanks for the help KeyMaster!

November 7, 2012 at 3:34 am #49232adminKeymasterYou need to empty the cache with super cache before you delete it. Super cache keeps cached copy of the pages and I have seen instances when it showed those cached pages even if the super cache plugin was deactive/deleted. Also try hitting the “f5” key which will do a hard refresh.
Make sure you have loaded a fresh copy of the plugin too:

August 10, 2014 at 11:51 pm #49234adminKeymasterThis is a caching related issue. Do you use any caching plugin or some other caching service?

October 6, 2014 at 8:53 pm #49240bentley74MemberI have had customers reporting similar issues: “failed security check” msg when they try to login. It’s not every time by any means, and when the most recent one tried again it worked for him.
Just wondering what might be causing this? No caching plugin on this particular site.
When he tried password reset it said “undefined”
October 7, 2014 at 12:02 am #49241adminKeymasterThis can only happen from a caching issue where the generated security key has been cached and is stale.
It is likely that your hosting provider is using caching on the server side. You can ask them to confirm.
