Hello,
When attempting to sign up as a new user for my website (envisioningthefutureintl.ca), users are receiving the error “reCAPTCHAâ„¢ service encountered error. please Contact Admin.” I have removed and re-added the eMember plug-in, updated and repeated, but the error is persistent unless I deactivate reCAPTCHA. I have tried plug-in versions 5.7.7 and 5.8.3.
Is this a server-side issue? Thank you.
Edit: Okay, it appears this only happens in IE9 in native mode. If you turn on compatibility mode it works fine.
IE 9 is still in beta so I am sure they still have a lot of bugs to address. If there is an issue with the reCAPTCHA library then the reCAPTCHA guys will update their library which I will take and update in eMember.
I’m still encountering this problem in IE 9… Is there a quick fix?
Thanks.
Hi, There is nothing to be fixed on the plugin side for this. It usually happens when your server is having difficulty conntecting to Google’s reCAPTCHA server. It is strange that it happens in IE more often than other browsers.
One other customer had a similar issue which is probably good to check out too:

Did you try reloading a fresh copy of the plugin too?
