When a purchase is made, the seller receives notification but the buyer receives nothing. The settings are correct in the options panel. I’ve turned the WordPress mail function on and off but the results remain exactly the same. Any ideas?
The buyer doesn’t get an email for Manual checkout. It can be very easily added though. I left it out cause the users who pursued me to add this feature didn’t want an email to be sent to the buyer. They wanted to contact the buyer for payment arrangement after they receive the sale notification.
It makes sense that the buyer receives a copy of the order too. I will add this option and give you an update.

Did you make any modifications to the emails?
I have v4.0.8; and no, I haven’t modified the emails.
The transaction details, including special instructions to the customer, do arrive; but the information from the setup screen is not included.
Again, this is for manual payment (I don’t use any other payment method).

The “buy email” details from the settings menu is only used for payment gateway payment (it needs various details that comes from the payment gateway).
For manual payment use the “Special Instruction” field in the manual payment settings section to customize your email.
