I’m having problems getting Amazon S3 Embedded Videos to play. They used to work, but my company moved to a new hosting platform, and on the way, upgraded everything (WP, plugins, etc) to their latest version. Clicking on the object does nothing in Firefox, Chrome or Safari. The roll-over link in the status bar appears to be OK. I’ve validated/verified the AWS keys are correct, and the video is there.
To make it easier, I’ve stripped down one of our paid pages to a very simple example with a single protected S3 video on it. That page is [https://www.socialmarketingnoise.com/test]
The shortcode I’m using is
[wp_lightbox_protected_s3_video name="dsc_ws_module1-1.mp4" bucket="cdn.socialmarketingnoise.com" width="800" height="600" source="/wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/dsc_ws_module1-1.png"]
I’m using WordPress 3.8.1 and WP Lightbox Ultimate 2.0.9 (among other more complex plugins like iMember360 and the Weaver II Pro Theme.
I’m not quite sure where to turn next, and would appreciate any help you can provide!
Thanks!
Steve.
February 13, 2014 at 6:02 am #60840wpCommerceModeratorHi, You are having a similar issue like the following:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/wp-lightbox-ultimate-not-activating-video
March 15, 2014 at 4:05 pm #60841sparkerMemberI can finally give this a little more time.
I’ve updated everything on the site to the latest versions, just so I’d have a known starting point. This includes WPLU 2.0.9.
I don’t think it’s related to plugin conflicts, because the videos seem to work fine in some of the latest browsers, but not on others:
Windoze
– Chrome 33.0.1750 works
– Internet Exploder 9.0.8112 works
– Firefox 27.0.1 does not work – shows gray screen with encrypted URL
Macintosh
– Safari 7.0.2 Works
– Chrome 34.0.1847.50 beta does not work – shows gray screen with encrypted URL
– Firefox 27.0.1 does not work – shows gray screen with encrypted URL
Any ideas where to look next? I’ve kept the same “test page” live if you have time to look at it. That’s at [https://www.socialmarketingnoise.com/test].
If needed for debugging, I can provide an administrator account to our site.
I’d appreciate any help you can provide.
Steve

March 20, 2014 at 6:59 am #60843wpCommerceModeratorIt turned out that the bucket name was not appropriate. Renaming the bucket to a simple format resolved this issue:
