I used to use Paypal and the manual checkout. Now I don’t want to use Paypal anymore – only the manual checkout.
So I disabled “Use PayPal Payment Gateway”. I also disabled “Use Multiple Payment Gateways”.
But after clicking on “Checkout” in the cart, eStore is still redirecting the user to Paypal – but only sometimes…
I don’t know why but sometimes it works correctly (it goes to the manual checkout) but sometimes it doesn’t work. Very strange!
I use eStore v6.7.6
July 5, 2012 at 10:52 pm #46907adminKeymasterThere is most likely a cookie issue since the time you were using it (it will only be in your own browser). Did you try clearing cookies in your browser after you changed the settings in admin side? Please post a link to the page where you have the product so I can try a checkout.
July 6, 2012 at 4:19 am #46908blatternetMemberYes, I tried in in different browsers on different computers. And also without login on my site.
I even tried in the Incognito mode with Chrome.
And also some customers used PayPal to pay for my products.
Here is a link to a product page:

Click on “Bestellen” to order the item. Then on the cart-page you have to click on “Kaufen”.

2) I noticed some code customization on the plugin. Did you try loading a fresh build of the plugin?

July 6, 2012 at 12:21 pm #46910blatternetMemberI did the following:
- I installed a fresh build (6.8.0) without any customization.
- I emptied all chaches (also on my server) and changed the browser.
Still the same effect…
Then I did my customizations:
- I translated the strings at the beginning of download.php.
- I uploaded my versions of checkout_manual.png, checkout_paypal.png and paypal_checkout.png.
Still the same problem.
And the I disabled the fancy checkout redirection option – and it works!
But: The following page is pretty simple – too simple (see screenshot). It looks a little bit like a pishing-site. Can I change this?
Here’s the screenshot.
July 6, 2012 at 12:54 pm #46911wzpModeratorAnother thing you can do, to increase the “comfort level” of your manual checkout page, is to get an SSL certificate for your site, and run the pages in HTTPS mode.
July 6, 2012 at 8:35 pm #46912blatternetMemberHey, wzp, cool! It’s exactly what I was looking for!
Everything is fine, thank you!
February 23, 2013 at 4:44 pm #46913vajenecMemberI have same problem. Use Multiple Payment Gateways is off, Use PayPal Payment Gateway is off, Enable Fancy Redirection On Checkout is off AND eStore is still redirecting the user to Paypal?
February 23, 2013 at 11:49 pm #46914wpCommerceModerator@vajenec, You didn’t mention what version of eStore are you using?
Please also provide a link to the page where you have a product set up.
Did you try clearing your browser cache and cookies?
February 24, 2013 at 8:52 am #46915vajenecMemberHere is the link: [http://konji.si/clanstvo/] – SIMPA 2 -> BUY NOW
WP estore: 6.9.7.2
WP emember: 8.5.6
Clean install, no cookie, diferent browser’s…. same rezults: only PayPal
Site is closed due this malfunction – i’m looking for other solutions now
February 24, 2013 at 9:42 pm #46916PeterMemberYour site is password protected – we can’t investigate the checkout functionality if we are unable to try a checkout ourselves.
January 13, 2015 at 7:39 am #46917stellapolarisMemberHello
I’m having the same issue – I only use Stripe as a payment gateway, having previously used paypal via the simple Paypal but making the obvious changes. I recently downloaded fresh links for the plugins.
The error message I got was
“Error! PayPal pro processing called for Non eStore checkout! This should not happen.”
I’ve never had a PayPay Pro account.
I’d appreciate how to fix this.
Kind regards
Kym
January 13, 2015 at 10:46 pm #46918adminKeymasterHi Kym, please post a link to your product page so I can add an item to the cart and try a checkout to see the issue.
January 14, 2015 at 1:19 am #46919stellapolarisMemberThe difficulty appears to be deleting the previous paypal information – for example I’ve tried to delete the email address for my former paypal account but the plugin doesn’t appear to allow it.
January 14, 2015 at 1:59 am #46920adminKeymasterYou don’t need to delete an address. You simply apply the new email address in that field then save it.
To turn off PayPal, you just have to uncheck the “Use PayPal Payment Gateway” option (then it doesn’t matter what values are there).
Did you clear your cookies and cache after you changed the settings? It is probably worth doing that once.
If you share a link to your product page I will be able to inspect it and help you.
