Please forgive me if this question was already asked, but I searched and could not find my questions/answer.

I am in the process of setting up a membership subscription using e-member. I want to have the membership auto renew every month. The process we currently have setup is… someone registers as a free member (expires never) and then when they login, they will be given the option to upgrade to a premium membership. I understand how to generate the paypal button for the subscription, but when I am setting up the premium membership level, do I put the expiration period for 30 days? Then, my question becomes, when paypal automatically charges the person come renewal time, will it update their subscription in emember for another 30 days? If so, I’m confused with how paypal will know which member to update?

    Thanks in advance.

related question – can you set the system up so that you can give away a product for free (for example, a reviewer for an e-book)

I am currently going through a re-design of the business model for my site, which will involve removing the subscriptions of my current paid members.

Is there a way for me to remove the automatic paypal renewal without each member needing to remove it themselves?

Apologies in advance if this has already been posted … I was unable to find this particular issue when searchimg the forum.

Yes there is a way to remove the automatic renewals without your users doing it. This post will point you to articles that will show you how to do this form your PayPal account:
