Hello,
I have just installed the newest versions of emember and estore on my website http://www.china232.com but my users aren’t automatically logged into wordpress and emember even though I have the boxes checked to have them logged in to both and the members are on both emember and wordpress. It is very important for my site since wordpress has podpress on it and it is necessary to be logged in to see the premium content.
Please help ASAP as my customers are getting angry!
Thanks as always for the excellent support!
March 24, 2011 at 12:47 am #30595amin007ParticipantDo you have a test member account that I can use to login to your system and test it out?
March 24, 2011 at 1:07 am #30596addisonMembersure, I just made one.

First, make sure you can log into WordPress using the login details of a user (if this part is not working then that means this user does not exists in WordPress user database and that need to be sorted out before anything else can be done)
March 24, 2011 at 2:38 am #30598addisonMemberHello,
I was just looking into the problem. I do have a wordpress user and have added premium subscriber role to it. I guess that’s why it says that you don’t have permission to access the profile page when you login.
I did just notice though that when I added the user and all of the new users when I go on wordpress users it says for user role it says “none” even though I went on the user and updated the profile to premium subscriber role. It reverts back to none. This is true for any of my members that have just paid with the plugin. But it shows my imported users all have a premium subscriber role. Must have something to do with adding the wordpress user initially when emember automatically sets it up.
Also, It seems with the new upgrade of plugins now my podpress player can’t be seen. Not sure what could be causing the issue.
Thanks again!
March 24, 2011 at 2:47 am #30599addisonMemberI should also mention that the role I have assigned in emember is the “premium subscriber” role for new signups.
March 24, 2011 at 3:13 pm #30600addisonMemberHello,
it seems that the new users with the updated plugins no give me the premium subscriber role but still can’t login for wordpress and emember at same time. I wonder if it has something to do with wordpress 3.1 and roles. I reverted back to my old member system for the time being. Would the newest emember plugins work with wordpress 2.7? Maybe I’ll try that since my current site runs on that version.
March 24, 2011 at 10:51 pm #30601amin007ParticipantYeah eMember should work with WordPress 2.7.
So your issue is that the WordPress user doesn’t get created properly since you use custom role?
March 25, 2011 at 2:40 am #30602addisonMemberyes, it seems that way. Something buggy is happening when logging in to both emember and wordpress it seems with custom roles. I’m not sure of the exact issue. I had it working for awhile on my testing server but it got something happened after on there and also on the live site. I’ll look into it again anyway.
March 25, 2011 at 11:53 pm #30603amin007ParticipantSomething is going wrong when you create a user with custom role on your site. Try to create a WordPress user with custom role then see if you can log into your wp admin with that user (don’t use eMember to log in.. just your plain wp login).
December 8, 2011 at 5:09 am #30604meettipsMemberHello, I’m having this same issue with emember, podpress and WP 3.1
Has someone been abel to solve it?
December 9, 2011 at 3:44 am #30605adminKeymasterThere is no outstanding issue with WordPress user role and eMember. Please explain which step is not working for you so I can get a better idea.
Also, please load a fresh build of the plugin:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/re-install-or-load-a-fresh-build-of-the-plugins
Then make sure these instructions were followed for eMember and WordPress user role integration:
December 12, 2011 at 7:10 am #30606meettipsMemberHello,
I have all 3 checkboxes set in all of the multisite eMember pages.
I have recently installed the newest version of eMember.
I’ve tested on a clean installation of WordPress 3.2.1 with just podpress, eMember and User Role Editor plugins.
In all instances I cannot get a capability to load with eMember log in. If I log into wordpress then the capability is loaded.
December 13, 2011 at 3:41 am #30607adminKeymasterCan you please tell me which “User Role Editor plugin” you are using. Since you are using custom role eMember is most likely getting confused somewhere. By “Capabilities” you mean the user role right?
December 13, 2011 at 5:26 am #30608meettipsMemberHello, this is the plugin
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/user-role-editor/
Yes. I have added to the “subscriber” role the “premium content” capability.
This is to enable podpress “premium content” to be accessed.
Thank you
