I got eMember working and all of my previous site members loaded in, then my site was migrated from sandbox to production. The database and plugin made it unscathed.
However, when I go to the “members” listing in the control panel, the members are not listed. The Dashboard recognizes the correct number of users, and lists the most recent 5 added. But the page where you can select and edit members is empty.
Coincidentally, many members are saying they cannot log in, even with a correct password and have to reset their password to gain access. Which works, but it was a step I was trying to avoid.
What did I miss?
March 15, 2013 at 1:06 am #54461IvyMember1. Please see these posts which should help you (lot can go wrong when moving database tables):
Migrating db from Windows server to Linux server loses products and categories
Products and Customers lost (but not Settings) after moving from local PC
2. What version of the eMember and WordPress are you using on this site?
3. Did you make any changes to the theme or other plugin when you moved your site?
4. Did you try loading a fresh copy of the eMember plugin?

March 15, 2013 at 2:46 pm #54462sdocpubSpectatorThanks for replying, and for the links. They didn’t show up on my search.
Database duplication was via MySQL dump via Plesk tools. Migration was from windows to windows, so case-sensitive does not come into play. Checked both databases (old and new) and both have same case in table names.
eMember: 8.4.8
WP: 3.5.1
No theme or plugin changes. The goal was to perfect the site in sandbox, then just copy and drop same in production. Easier said than done.
Will try to load a fresh copy in the wee hours when traffic is down.
If the plugin is deleted, do the tables remain? (Just making sure….)
March 15, 2013 at 10:16 pm #54463wpCommerceModeratorHi, deleting the plugin won’t affect the database tables.
March 21, 2013 at 3:08 am #54464sdocpubSpectatorOK, here is what I did.
No changes since the above posts – same versions, same theme, same plugins, etc.
I deleted eMember and reinstalled via upload in the plugins panel. No change.
Then I deleted the plugin, backed up the eMember tables, dropped the tables, reinstalled eMember, imported the tables via phpMyAdmin. No change. The data is in the database but the members are not visible via the “Members” panel. I also think new subscriptions are not getting captured.
Are there any other ideas or resources I should look at? Like I said above, it was working perfectly in the sandbox, then the site was copied to production and the problem started.
March 21, 2013 at 10:31 pm #54465adminKeymasterDo the following:
1) Drop the eMember database tables
2) Re-install eMember
3) Now add a member via the eMember dashboard
4) Do you see that member you just added? Does that member get added correctly?
