site: [http://sryc.net]
test account uid: tester pwd: test
I’m using WP 4.21 hosted on siteground.com
Currently using eMember v8.9.4
Avada Themes v3.7.1
I am having cache like issues where the logged in user is not respected across all protected pages. In addition I have different header states that use some php to show different header states depending on your logged in state. I’ve confirmed that it’s not my server cache causing this issue. In addition my hosting has upgraded, downgraded my php, temporarily disabled other plugins and was not able to identify the issue.
I do not want to just reinstall my plugin without being able to save the current settings so I do not have to manually transcribe the settings.
April 30, 2015 at 2:04 am #69810adminKeymasterI logged into your site and checked couple of your page and it worked fine for me. Which page should I go to so I can see the issue?
PS. You do not lose any emember settings or any other data if you re-install the plugin.
April 30, 2015 at 12:05 pm #69811flananutsMemberI was able to recreate the issue doing the following
1. I logged in using tester , test on page url: [http://sryc.net/commodores-page/?event=login] , which was the first time I have used that test account to log in.
2. I saw the proper behavior with the header changing states across all pages correctly.
3. I logged out
4. Log in user tester, test on page url: [http://sryc.net/membersdirectory/?event=login]
5. Protected content is viewable but the header state is still in the logged out state showing login|register
6. Navigate to page url: [http://sryc.net/commodores-page/] and the content is not visible
I tried this with both the test account and another account and confirmed the behavior
April 30, 2015 at 8:39 pm #69812flananutsMemberquick update, i completely reinstalled wordpress and also reinstalled the eMember plug in. I’m still experiencing what I would consider some sort of a caching issue whereby the page is not aware that the member is logged in thus blocks the content. This is further verified because the header menus are supposed to change depending on whether a member is logged in or not.
April 30, 2015 at 10:57 pm #69813wzpModeratorI am having cache like issues… I’ve confirmed that it’s not my server cache causing this issue.
But are you using ANY kind of caching plugins, accelerators, etc? If you are, which ones?
May 1, 2015 at 12:04 pm #69814flananutsMemberI flushed cache on my server and I turned off super cacher and confirmed I’m not using any other caching tools or cdn’s. I don’t know how to debug the issue when the logged in user but I suspect that there should be something written back to the page to tell the code that the user is logged in and to show the content. I also suspect that is why the header menus aren’t changing. Can I use firebug or some other tool to look for something specific?
May 1, 2015 at 12:15 pm #69815wzpModeratorIt seems like you are using caching tools on your server, but that you don’t want to admit which specific ones (for some reason). Here is configuration information that is needed, when you are using 2 of the more popular caching tools; WP Super Cache & W3 Total Cache. Please ensure that whatever caching tool you are using, conforms to these settings, as WP Super Cache & W3 Total Cache are the only caching plugins that we officially support.
