Hi, I have a very strange issue. Some pages when I protect them in the Manage Content Protection ยป General Protection are protected to logged out users. But others aren’t.
I have tested by creating a new page and protecting it and non logged-in users can see the content!?
I am baffled. I am using v9.0.3 although have the same issue on v9.0.1
I have read all the tutorials and other posts on this forum but still I can’t get this to work.
If you log in as a member who doesn’t have access then it is restricted and shows that you don’t have permission to view the content. However if you then log out you can see the content!!
Any ideas?
April 11, 2016 at 4:58 am #73005wzpModeratorMake sure to go through the following checklist:
Are you using page caching plugins?
- https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/using-the-plugins-with-w3-total-cache-plugin
Or another plugin that offers a caching feature?
Is your hosting provider using caching on their end?
Is this content (that you are trying to protect) a custom post type post?
April 11, 2016 at 3:31 pm #73006robmac74MemberOk, I have narrowed it down to my theme been the issue. Or a problem between the theme and the plugin. I am using Genesis Framework with Dynamik Website Builder. If i switch to a different Genesis theme then the content protection works.
Are you aware of any issues with Dynamik and eMember?
Can you point me in the right direction please to trouble shoot?
Thanks.
Regards,
Rob.
April 11, 2016 at 6:54 pm #73007robmac74MemberOk, i have found part of the problem. I was using protection shortcode in a header widget to protect some content in the header. However it seemed to cause issues in the main content so I have removed it.
However now my issue is I can’t protect my “Recipes” which are a custom post type from the eMember protection options on the post. The toggle doesn’t change from “No” to “Yes” or vice-versa.
I can however protect it if I go into the bulk content protection in membership levels.
However it does work if i create a new recipe, just doesn’t work anymore on the old ones.
Any ideas please?
April 11, 2016 at 11:05 pm #73008robmac74MemberAnother update. I have found the issue is I am using wp-types to create the custom post type and it works ok.
However the recipes post type is a parent of nutrients custom post type.
And this doesn’t work nicely with eMember. For some reason i can protect the posts ok in:
eMember -> Membership Level -> Manage Content Protection
however if i try changing the protection in the individual post it doesn’t work. The settings don’t save.
Can someone help please as this is as far as I can trouble shoot. Thanks
April 12, 2016 at 6:03 am #73009adminKeymasterThis is an issue with that custom post type plugin that you are using. I have sent an email to you to test a new custom post type protection solution we created. Please reply to it.
