Hi there,
I’ve searched the documentation but can’t seem to find what I am looking for – which is this:
I have a site up and running offering monthly or annual subscription which gives members access to premium content and weekly updates – is it possible to give new site visitors a 1 month free trial, and after three weeks have them receive an automatic e-mail asking them if they want to sign up as a paid member? I don’t want them to have to put in their payment details for the trial and then have to cancel, I just want it to be a free trial of the service so they can see if it suits them.
Many thanks
Martin
PayPal doesn’t allow you to setup a subscription with free trial that doesn’t collect the payment details upfront. So the answer for that is no. But the following workaround may work:
You can create a free membership level with a 1 month access duration. Then let the users (who want to take up a free trial) signup to this membership level for free. If you are using the auto expiry email notification of eMember, then you can configure it to send an email 7 days before their membership level expire. You can bring these members (with the expiry notification email) to a special page with payment buttons which can be used to up-sell them a membership upgrade.
