I have both the eStore and eMembership plugins. My client wants a membership level structure that is kind of making my head hurt. I need your help- it’s probably easier than I think but I don’t even know where to begin. I would really appreciate your guidance on how to set the membership levels up like this:
Basic – Free, no credit card needed. Access to free content and a weekly post (could be a category?). Needs to encourage users to join the next level, which is:
Free Trial – Two weeks of Full Membership access for free, with credit card. After two weeks, free trial will automatically convert to:
Full Membership – $12.95/month, credit card is automatically billed monthly for access to all content. Reduced rate for downloads.
And then there are these two “stand-alone” levels:
6 Month Special- $59.95, credit card is billed once for access to all content. Full access to all content and a reduced rate for downnloads. Free eBook
1 Year- $89.95, credit card is billed once for access to all content. Full access to all content and a reduced rate for downloads. Free eBook
Hopefully your head doens’t hurt from looking at this. What do you think? Doable? How??

How to include the link to the registration form in “Thank you for your purchase” email? Per your instructions, I have entered the level ID in the appropriate eStore product field, and I have a registration page in WordPress with the registration shortcode. But the email I get after a successful Paypal payment does NOT include a link to the registration page where they will be able to choose their Username and password to complete the registration!
I do get the correct links for digital products though- so I know I can’t be that far off!

July 19, 2012 at 11:43 pm #47531adminKeymasterHi Brad, This is not really a technical support question that I can fully handle via forum but I will try my best. To me it looks like you will need 4 membership levels.
1) Basic Free one
2) Trial with recurring charge
3) 6 Month one
4) 1 Year one
The free one is easy to handle and you probably know what to do
For the trial with recurring charge, you simply make a membership level with “Subscription Duration” set to “No Expiry or Until Cancelled”. Define all the protection as you see fit. Finally, hook this membership level to an eStore subscription product. If you do not know how to create a subscription product in eStore then the following doc will help you (there is a video tutorial for that too):

The membership level will get cancelled automatically when the subscription gets cancelled.
The 6 month and 1 Year ones are straight forward as you make those membership levels by using the “Expire After an Interval” value and hook with a normal (non-recurring) eStore product. This would be a good read for you:
Once you have laid out all the membership levels and a way to signup to these levels then you will need to turn towards the content protection strategy. This is something you will need to handle yourself as you see fit for your needs. In general, you can make 4 pages that are like the home pages for these 4 different levels (every time a member log ins you can set it up to redirect them to their corresponding level’s home page). In each of these pages you can lay out all the details of what they can and cannot see and then link to all the other content (posts and pages) that they have access to for the respective levels.
