I just went back and checked and enable debug is enabled. What would you like me to do next?
July 11, 2014 at 12:11 am #64069adminKeymasterLooks like you entered the Wrong List name in the settings and product configuration. MailChip is giving the following error when the plugin tries to signup the user:
[07/11/2014 12:09 AM] – FAILURE :Could not find a list name in your MailChimp account that matches with the target list name: NevillePeter
[07/11/2014 12:09 AM] – FAILURE :Could not find a list name in your MailChimp account that matches with the target list name: Neville Peter
Do you have any MailChimp list with a name “NevillePeter” or “Neville Peter”?
July 11, 2014 at 4:57 am #64070NevilleSpectatorYes the name of the list is Neville Peter Newsletter and bible musings. I have tried many different kinds of ways to write the title of the list, but nothing is working.
Here is the way I have it written now. NevillePeter|Newsletter|and|bible|Musings. Of course the period is not in the list title.
No matter how I try to write it, the email of the buyer is not being signed up to the mailing list. should I try changing the name of the list to see what happens? If so How should it be written? do both titles have to be identical? Should I get rid of all the spaces between the words?
July 11, 2014 at 6:07 am #64071adminKeymasterIf your list name is “Neville Peter Newsletter and bible musings” then you should be using the following as the list name in the plugin configuration:
Neville Peter Newsletter and bible musings
Why are you adding the “|” symbols in-between the words?
July 12, 2014 at 12:51 am #64072NevilleSpectatorthe reason why I wrote it that way is because I read here on this forum in another post that the spaces between words should be taken out. I have already written it the way you suggested and it didn’t work. I have tried it every way I could think of, but nothing has worked so far.
do you have any other suggestions for me? I have three lists on Mail chimp. Maybe I should try putting another list in the plugin to see if it works?
July 12, 2014 at 2:57 am #64073adminKeymasterJust for a test, create a new list in your Mailchimp account (give it shorter name). This list name is only seen/used by you so no need to give it a very long name. Then use that name in your estore product and do a test.
The plugin actually tells you what went wrong so you can correct it. If you read the following post it has a lot of help on how to troubleshoot it:
July 17, 2014 at 2:50 am #64074NevilleSpectatorI have made some headway. the auto responder is working. My email is being added to the mail chimp list. However, even though the global checkbox is checked, the buyer’s email is still not being added to the list. the list that I have in the e store settings is the same as the one for free downloads. the free download sign up is working, but the buyer sign up isn’t.
July 21, 2014 at 5:15 pm #64075NevilleSpectatorAre you out of suggestions? I thought I would have heard from you by now.
July 22, 2014 at 12:11 am #64076adminKeymasterHi, I just checked your log file and the plugin is actually working fine. The way you are testing is wrong. You are testing with the following email address which is already on that list.
[lotrob@bellsouth.net]
MailChimp doesn’t let you subscribe the same email address again and again to the same list. When your customer (who will have a different email address) makes a purchase, the signup will work fine.
