I am using Lightbox Ultimate to display my You Tube videos. However, after the video is complete, I do not want the suggested videos to display. In the short code, I try to add rel=0, but this had no effect. Is there a way to exclude the suggested videos from showing after the video completes?

Thank you for any help you can give me on this issue.

Colorbox uses the embed code to display video in overlay. If you go to a video page in youtube and click the share->embed option you will see some additional checkboxes related to the embed code. One of them is “Show suggested videos when the video finishes”. By default it is checked. If the embed link is “http://www.youtube.com/embed/66TuSJo4dZM”, once you uncheck the option it will be changed to “http://www.youtube.com/embed/66TuSJo4dZM?rel=0”. Just copy and paste the embed link in the colorbox shortcode for Youtube video display. Now after the video is finished it shouldn’t show any suggested video. For example:

[wp_lightbox_colorbox_anchor_text_video link="http://www.youtube.com/embed/66TuSJo4dZM?rel=0" title="Title goes here" text="click here to display video"]

Let me know if that works for you.

Hi, I’m not sure what you’re getting at there. The point is if we add the rel=0 parameter the Lightbox is not honoring it.

Are you saying to choose different embed code?

I think you wrote the post from memory, because if you go to Youtube now to share/embed, there is no

Are you saying that in order to use rel=0 the only embed choice we would have is to use Colorbox?

The prettyphoto and the fancybox libraries do not honor the “?rel=0” tag… only colorbox does. We are working on anther new shortcode that will be more advanced so the user can specify more YouTube video embed related options.

Hi, I tested it by myself before giving you the instruction. I didn’t write it from memory.

Suppose, The URL of the Youtube video you want to display is – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66TuSJo4dZM

If you go to that page you will see some buttons right underneath the player. For example-

“Like”, “Add to”, “Share”. Click the “Share” button (please see the screenshot)-

    http://my.jetscreenshot.com/8105/20110923-vtrb-52kb.jpg

Once you click the “Share” button the “embed” button will show up. Click “embed” (please see the screenshot) –

    http://my.jetscreenshot.com/8105/20110923-b6sl-41kb.jpg

Now you will be able to see the embed code (between <iframe>….</iframe> tags) with additional checkboxes (please see the screenshot) –

    http://my.jetscreenshot.com/8105/20110923-bzei-64kb.jpg

By default “Show suggested videos when the video finishes” option is checked. If you uncheck it you will get a URL with rel=0. Now you can use this URL with the colorbox shortcode I mentioned before.

    my apologies:

I’m using WP 3.3.1, Genesis 1.7.1, and the Nitrous theme from Studiopress. I installed WP Lightbox Ultimate, and have created a page that can be found HERE

im using the [wp_lightbox_prettyPhoto_video] shortcode, and at the end of the video- all of the suggested videos appear… and i don’t want that. i want what appears in the “embed” code (as in, just reply, embed, etc options) is there a fix for this?

Hi, This is coming from YouTube. So we can’t do any modification which will make it disappear. I took a look at the YouTube “share” option and I found that “Show Suggested Video” option is only available for embed code(http://www.youtube.com/embed/66TuSJo4dZM?rel=0), not the full Youtube video url (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66TuSJo4dZM&rel=0).

Unfortunately, prettyPhoto and fancybox shortcodes use the full url to retrieve a Youtube video. So your only option is to use the colorbox shortcode.

If ColorBox is the only option to suppress suggested videos, is there a way to get it to auto-play? I need both features.

Where are the exact list of parameters available for ColorBox?

    Thanks.
