a) What part of the product isn’t working?
WP Affiliate. The Affiliate Portal will let my test account login but if I click to any of the menu links (edit profile, referrals, sales, payment history, ads, contact) it logs me out.
b) What are you trying to achieve?
Trying to run a Affiliate program
c) What causes the error to show up?
I login with my test account and it kicks me back out if I try to go anywhere but the front page. I’ve tried in three different browsers wondering if it was a cache issue.
d) What version of the plugin are you using?
Version 1.6
e) Provide a link to the exact page where the problem is seen

Let me know if you need my test loginf) Which product you are using (example: eStore, WP Affiliate Platform, eMember, PDF Stamper etc…)?
I have WP Affiliate with the Stripe add on, the Stripe subscription add on, the ConvertKit add on, the Country autodetect, and the Post Payments Action Add-on
g) Did you modify the plugin code?
Nope
August 15, 2022 at 6:42 pm #84511wzpModeratorAre you using any page caching plugins? The only 2 “officially supported” caching plugins are:
- WP Super Cache:
- W3 Total Cache:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/using-the-plugins-with-w3-total-cache-plugin
If you are using any other plugin, please examine the configuration guidance for these 2 plugins (see links) and determine if you can similarly configure your caching plugin.

August 15, 2022 at 6:58 pm #84513dawnfSpectatorI turned off the Object Cache plugin and Breeze but it’s still not working. I tried it in Firefox private browsing and no luck. Any other ideas? Or information you need from me?
August 16, 2022 at 12:37 am #84517adminKeymasterI created a test affiliate account on your site with the following username:
tipstest
Please approve that account and let me know. I will use it to log into the portal to see if that works for me or not.
Side Note: Private browsing is not going to work since affiliate systems need to use cookies. So don’t test with private browsing.
August 16, 2022 at 4:36 am #84518dawnfSpectatorI approved your test! I do use Cloudflare, could that be it? I host on Cloudways.
August 16, 2022 at 9:30 pm #84519adminKeymasterCloudlfare should be fine (we use it on our site also and the affiliate plugin works fine).
At the moment, the behavior of your site looks like the PHP session is not working correctly. It is not persistently holding the value. On a new page load (after the login), the PHP session is dropping the value.
This could be an issue with the server’s PHP session configuration or another plugin could be breaking the PHP session functionality. First, do the following to make sure another plugin or theme is not breaking the PHP session on this site:
August 17, 2022 at 6:04 am #84520dawnfSpectatorNot a plugin conflict, apparently. Also not a theme conflict (tried the 2021 theme). That takes us to server’s PHP session configuration. Does it have something to do with this? https://support.cloudways.com/en/articles/5124986-setting-up-the-session-path-from-the-cloudways-platform
August 17, 2022 at 3:53 pm #84521dawnfSpectatorAnd just curious, if we can’t get this to work will I be able to get a refund on the plugins? I’m feeling really discouraged about this.
August 17, 2022 at 7:41 pm #84523wzpModeratorPHP session problems can only be corrected by the hosting provider. Not correcting it will affect most plugins that perform affiliate or eCommerce operations. Who is your hosting provider?
