Well, finally this is resolved.
I understand that the eSTore plugin has nothing to do with the SMTP or wordpress mailing system. At least not directly…read later.
I spent the last three days working with Google setting up a google email account using my domain with my easy WP SMTP plugin.
All of the SMTP emails were blocked by the SMTP gmail server.
4 Google techs, countless updates to MX records and SPF records, yet they were always blocked.
The solution?
The default email Subject (I think this is default with eStore?) Notification of Product Sale was rejected by the gmail SMTP server as spam.
It took google escalating this to a second level tech.
Tomtomb18SpectatorHi
I downloaded, installed and setup EasyWP SMTP. I sent a test message with no issues.
However, I then attempted to purchase a product. This works fine without the SMPT (although will go into spam at times) but with it, PayPal reports “Things don’t appear to be working at the moment”
There are no logs generated in eStore either.
Like I said, what needs to be done in the eStore or my WP site?
Turning SMTP off and all is well.
Tomtomb18SpectatorI’ve tried this out previously and it didn’t work. Mainly because there is no documentation about using eStore with an SMTP plugin.
So I ask the questions again (you are the support channel right?)Based on comments here and other sources I have heard that using an SMTP plugin can resolve all of this, however I have a number of questions concerning this.
1) Which smtp server do I configure in the plugin? Do I use mail.va2fsq.com?
2) What changes are necessary in the eStore to accommodate this? In the eStore settings, email, there is the first box which says “Use wordpress mailing system”. Do I leave this enabled? What if I want to use a completely different email system? My personal one.
I need answers to each of these questions please.
