I’m setting up a store where I’ll be selling a downloadable theme. I’d like to show popularity (or uniqueness) by listing how many times that particular product has been sold.

I’ve seen quite a number of sites doing this. Here’s one example: http://themeforest.net/item/classica-minimalistic-wordpress-portfolio-theme/155672 (Look at the right column to see how many times this has been downloaded)

How about showing number of downloads for each product description?
