Hi wzp. Thanks for the links. I can see what you are saying.
The thing is, I have an image map. Its an html page with a large image with lots of html co-ordinates on it – each co-ordinate has its own href url – ie each co-ordinate is effectively a button.
So I don’t know how to take one of those co-ordinates (which is buried in the html page), and tell eStore to use that as my button for the pdf!!
It could be that I’m trying to be too ambitious here! What do you think?
SevMemberHi. I’ve finally cracked it (with lots of help from you guys!) – it is my server who is blocking e-mails (anti-spam measures). I will now try out the SMTP plug in for WordPress and/or have a chat with my server provider. Many thanks for your help & patience and tonnes of useful links:)
SevMemberHi – thanks Peter & Key Master for guiding me. I’m still trying to work through it all – but I did run the email tester that Key Master suggested – it is very good and easy and it did pick up on a mis-configuration I had in WordPress. However, although the debug file shows that the e-mails are being sent (and so does the email plug in test), I’m still not getting emails send to the buyer (but Paypal emails are getting through).
Could it be an issue with my server blocking things? I’ll have to run more tests.
BTW – how do I upload the debug log file? Or should I just copy and paste the contents into a post? (thanks for bearing with me:).
Any other tips gratefully appreciated. Thanks.
SevMemberHi Key Master,
Thanks for your response. Apologies, but I’m having some more difficulties:)
In order to eliminate any possible conflict with other plugins (as you mentioned), I installed eMember and eStore on a blank (test) website – with no other plugins.
Here are some details:
WordPress ver 3.5.1
eMember ver 8.6.4
eStore ver 6.9.8.0
test website: [www.violablaze.com]
I’m trying to set up a smiple paid-for membership (no free membership) – so that the registration form link is e-mailed to someone once they’ve paid by Paypal.
The new problem I’m having is that when I buy the product (as a user) I don’t get the e-mail from the plugin with the registration url. I’ve checked the e-mail settings under the Membership and estore settings – I just can’t work out what’s going on!.
I’ve also made sure that Use Automatic Post Payment Processing is checked (under Post Payment Processing Settings) in eStore settings. I’ve also made sure that the product has the correct ‘Reference Text’ number to tie in eMember and eStore together.
Payment is going thru Paypal ok (all the emails from Paypal to both buyer & seller are working fine) – its just the WordPress (plugin) emails which are missing (though strangely enough, as a seller I get an e-mail saying a sale has been made – but as a buyer I’m not getting any e-mails other than from Paypal).
Any clues? Many Thanks.
SevMemberCan I just check – is it a requirement to have ‘free membership’ checked in order for the system to work – even if we don’t want to offer free membership?
Like webnut (previous post), I too am getting ‘Free membership is disabled on this site!’ after going through Paypal purchase and clicking on the url link from the e-mail.
I’ve got both eMember and the eStore plugins and I’m a bit lost:)
What I’m trying to do is sell a membership with a Buy Now button – where registration takes place after the purchase. I don’t want to offer free membership. I just can’t seem to get to the registration form.
Also – should the registration page be protected (under eMember protection options)? If not, if anyone else (who hadn’t paid) got access to the registration form, couldn’t they just fill it in and then get access to the premium content? (I’m sure you’ve thought of all this already, but I just want to check whether I should protect the form?).
A Thousand Thanks!
