srodenmayer, I installed the plugin WZP offers in the above link.

    reposted here for clarity:

“He said he used the “Easy WP SMTP” plugin:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-wp-smtp/”

Then I followed the general settings and made the changes that referred to my gmail address:

in the email settings of the wp eStore tab:

just put in the gmail address you used in the above scenario and make sure you check the box where it says “

-Use WordPress Mailing System If checked the plugin will use the WordPress mail function to send emails (this is recommended). Otherwise it will use a simple PHP mail script that comes with this plugin.—“

OK I fixed it. I reinstalled wp. Then uploaded theme. Then made changes as stated here:

Then I created post pages with products and prices. Created categories in theme. Added prod_id in post pages by adding description in custom code in post page. Then changed description to prod_id and number.

Then added categories in wp estore plugin. then added products in wp estore. After adding product in wp estore id is associated.

I then put add cart short code in widget in text box.

Then I created a child theme and it still worked.

    Thanks very much
