This option below gives the buyer an email that says from WordPress via yourhostingaccount.com

Does anyone know how to change it so it is still secure when sent and has the email address of sender appear instead of “WordPress” and the website name or email address instead of “yourhostingaccount.com”

–Use WordPress Mailing System If checked the plugin will use the WordPress mail function to send emails (this is recommended). Otherwise it will use a simple PHP mail script that comes with this plugin.—

    Thanks so much

srodenmayer, I installed the plugin WZP offers in the above link.

    reposted here for clarity:

“He said he used the “Easy WP SMTP” plugin:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-wp-smtp/”

Then I followed the general settings and made the changes that referred to my gmail address:

in the email settings of the wp eStore tab:

just put in the gmail address you used in the above scenario and make sure you check the box where it says “

-Use WordPress Mailing System If checked the plugin will use the WordPress mail function to send emails (this is recommended). Otherwise it will use a simple PHP mail script that comes with this plugin.—“

@pkmurphy, You don’t have to use an SMTP plugin unless you are having issues with receiving emails. Please do the following to change the sender’s address:

How to change Email coming from 'WordPress'

You can easily customize the sender’s name and email address using the technique mentioned in the above post.
