1. It’s a shame that the only way to determine whether the cart only contains digital products is to check that there’s no shipping value, this requires all physical products to have a shipping value to be able to utilise this feature:-(
That’s potentially thousands of physical products which need a 0.0001 shipping charge, which is easy to forget as it isn’t the most logical thing to enter when you are creating a product.
Any thoughts on a way to mitigate this? Maybe an option to relax the requirement (‘always show shipping variation’) for those who have no digital products, or perhaps find an alternative method of determining the contents of the cart (do all items have a download location?) or otherwise automating the process (e.g. internally set all products without a download location to 0.0001 shipping)?

Most items on the site have zero shipping, a few have 15.00. Thanks for looking into this.
PaulMemberYes I did hit ‘update’. I’ve tested a few times, using FF/IE etc.
Just to clarify, I have two issues:
1. No shipping added by the Shipping Variation if there’s not already some shipping in the cart.
2. ‘Update’ not changing the Shipping Variation value once set.
Can’t post a link as the site is live and taking orders, I’ve had to go back to the previous shipping method. I could put the site in maintenance mode and provide login details I guess but I’d rather avoid that. It would be great if you could first confirm the above two issues aren’t expected or occurring on a test site etc. (or if someone else could comment)?
PaulMemberI seem to recall having to set the Category as it hadn’t copied, but it was a while back….
PaulMemberOK, so I forced the Shipping to appear by adding an item cost of 0.001 (which isn’t ideal as I would have to do this with over 100 products). It worked as I could then set a country.
But then I realised I had selected the wrong country so changed my choice and although the dropdown changed, the value in the cart did not.
Help?

Only had one instance and it shows only the first word in the email. I’ve added an underscore for now.
