Tagged: Copy product, Duplicate Sales
Hi,
I noticed the Sales Count is strangely raised to “6” for a few items I added last week (my store has got 100 items in total and was opened two months ago starting with 90) but I didn’t received any notification from the store or PayPal. I also don’t see any new customer and sale in the stats screen.
All the other items counter is 0.
This is really strange. What could be happened?
When you created this items did you use the “Copy Products Details” feature to copy another product which had 6 sales count?
Are you offering this product for free via the “Squeeze Page” option?

Do you have a “Download Now” button lying around somewhere on a page for this item that you forgot about?
Hi Amin,
yes, I did use the “Copy Product Details” feature on some items that have been sold before. I actually didn’t realized I was copying the sales number as well, good to know.
Thank you.
Yep, the copy product details feature gives you an exact clone of the product you are copying so you need to change the details you want after your copy it.
I seem to recall having to set the Category as it hadn’t copied, but it was a while back….
So, how does one remove the “duplicate sales” from the new item created by copying another item?
The inventory count for a product is different than duplicate sales. Duplicate sales would mean that you have double sales record for the same product. I don’t see how you get duplicate sales from copying a product. So my question is, what do you really mean by duplicate sales in your case?
