Found it (finally)! It was one of the extensions in Chrome. Evidently, when I upgraded to WP 3.9 it changed the way this extension reacted with the lightbox (or something). So, first of all, thanks for your help which was above and beyond. I really appreciate it. Secondly, If anyone else encounters a similar problem, have them turn off all their Chrome extensions and then reactivate them one at a time to find the one causing the issue.

Thanks, I filled out the form. I hope you find something to explain it. All I know for sure is that everything was working perfectly even when I was logged in and as soon as I upgraded to WP 3.9 the problem started.
That was it. It would not work while I was logged in as admin in that browser. Thank you so much, it was driving me nuts!
5 minutes later: It was working, then I logged in and it quit. Logged out, cleared cache, reloaded page and it’s back to not working. Seems to be wordpress related.
Any thoughts as to why I can’t see it in Chrome and others can? I’ve been searching for an answer and not having any luck. I could see it just fine until I upgraded to WP 3.9 My concern is that others might want to opt in but won’t be able to.
So, just for clarity: When you click the orange button that says “Give Me the Report” in Chrome the lightbox with the optin form pops up? I’ve tried several computers with the latest version of the Chrome browser and can’t get it to work. Granted, because it works in other browsers it’s probably not an issue with the plugin. So, at this point I am just trying to sort things out and I really appreciate your feedback. Thanks!
Update to post above. The inline HTML in question is actually working in firefox, IE, and Safari, just not in Chrome.
Well, everything was working perfectly after following your recommendations above, then I upgraded to WP 3.9 and now the inline HTML lightboxes won’t load. Did a fresh install, but it did not fix the problem. PretyPhoto still works, only the inline HTML shortcode with an embedded image anchor seems to be affected.
Again, if you need to see what I am talking about, the URL is [http://quantumleap1000.com/] and the anchor images are orange buttons that say “Give Me the Report.”

I am using inline HTML shortcode with an embedded image anchor to display an optin box in the popup. Everything works fine, but on hover the popup displays left and right navigation arrows like a slider. I did not use height and width settings so the popup would remain responsive. I am trying to figure out how to eliminate those navigation arrows, but couldn’t find any mention of them in the form archives. If you need to see what I am talking about, the URL is [http://quantumleap1000.com/] and the anchor images are orange buttons that say “Give Me the Report.” The arrows only show when your cursor is over the popup.
When I use the shortcode as shown in the instructions (with my own div_id of course):
a) From anchor text:
[wp_lightbox_ultimate_inline_content_embed div_id=”12345″ anchor_type=”text” title=”Title goes here” text=”click here to open the html content” source=”” auto_popup=”false”]
And then add HTML content below between:
<div id=”12345″ style=”width:640px;height:480px;”>
and
</div>
The content shows below this link. Then when I click the link the content shows in the lightbox and when I close the lightbox the content is no longer on the page. If I refresh the page the content again appears below the link until it is clicked.
What am I missing?
