Hi! What happened was I HAD secondary membership level on and created 1 free member section and 2 paid member sections — section B and C.
My problem was when a user bought B and then later bought C, it locked them out of member section B completely (and I didn’t want that to happen coz member section B was a completely different video course section and I didn’t want to add those videos to member section C ).
I even created a main member dashboard page redirecting all paid members to that page ONLY and put links to the free member section, B, and C section and stated on the member dashboard that if they paid for B and/or C memberships that they would have permission to view those sections by clicking on the links.
I am not redirecting them after they pay to the free section, b, or c section after they pay; instead I was redirecting ALL members to a member dashboard page where I placed the links to other sections (and if they paid for section B or C they’d be able to view the content by clicking on the links to that section, but it didn’t work as it was locking members who had paid for 2 different member sections).
That’s why I was trying to say if this was possible coz I couldn’t get that when I tested it out numerous times. I was getting you can move up a level (upgrade and can’t go back to the old member section — e.g., silver member upgraded to gold member and all the content from silver section is added to the gold member page).
luluzoomMemberlol k I think I see info on this page: http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/ecommerce/wp-estore-shortcodes-and-functions-reference-460

Thanks! I am not using the secondary membership feature anymore.
Do you plan on in the near future adding third, fourth or more levels (kind of like your secondary feature only more) so that paid members can view ALL their other membership levels at the same time?(I hope I am explaining this right).
So it’s kinda like renting cars in one dealership: Free car, family car, SUV, sports car. One customer wants the ability to drive all 4 cars anytime, any day, and doesn’t want to lose privileges. Whereas maybe the other customer just wants the ability to drive 3 cars: the SUV, sports car, and family car.
Do you guys have a service for customizing the plugin/building on to it further? I totally think this plugin is one of the best WP member plugins out there right now. Thanks amin007!
April 25, 2011 at 4:23 am in reply to: Member not getting welcome email & admin cannot find the member purchase in WP #31645luluzoomMemberHi! I am trying to go far in wide in particular niche/website and wanted to have the ability in the future to add 4+ different video memberships on same website (in like topics) and have the customer be able to view the other video courses/memberships they paid for.
So for example, let’s say Sally is free member for “Become a Better Hair Stylist” which hosts a few basic videos. Then she sees on same website that there is also other video content available via different memberships and the titles are:
Hair Coloring Techniques
Razor Cutting Techniques
Children Hairstyles
She then purchases the “Hair Coloring Techniques” and “Children Hairstyles” membership video courses and now can see the “Hair Coloring Techniques” member area and can view those hair coloring videos in addition to the “Children Hairstyles” videos. When she logs into the main member area there are links to all the video membership courses she purchased.
She also sees that she can buy another membership level later on if she so chooses. She sees “Razor Cutting Techniques” and decides that she’ll purchase that the next time she gets paid (lol). And when she comes back she purchases the “Razor Cutting Techniques” video membership course and can now view the “Razor Cutting Techniques” videos and of course the main member area shows the links to the other member video courses she purchased.
I realize that one can put the courses in order and place all the other videos in the new membership title; however, another customer, Linda, may just want access to the free member area and may ONLY want to purchase the “Children Hairstyles” video membership course and doesn’t want the other videos courses (lol).
I also understand that I can just build other small membership sites; however, that’s not my plan.
I see that I could just set up new WP directories and do it that way, but then customers would have to register (via form) for each video membership course they wanted — and that’s okay. I also see my affiliates would have to sign up for each membership courses’ affiliate program since they’re on different WP directories.
Anyways, I love your plugins and I think I’m funny. I may be backwards but I wouldn’t have it any other way! Hee hee

I downloaded a new build of eStore and ran test again just right now using same scenario. I get the Thank you for the purchase & Member Account Upgraded emails (yaayyy!), but when I log in it does not redirect me to the upgraded membership page I specified in the eMember settings. Also, when logged in as a member it still shows me as a free member. Is there a eMember short code to direct them to the upgraded membership page or am I missing a setting?
On the wp-admin/admin.php?page=wp_eMember_manage page — under “Membership Level” it will show that the user is still a “free” member and I have to drill down on the username by clicking on the “edit” link to see that the user purchased paid membership or check on eStore, is this how it is normally supposed to appear or I we supposed to see under “Membership Level” Gold Member (example paid membership level title) instead of free?
Thanks! You’ve been such a great help!

April 22, 2011 at 5:52 am in reply to: Member not getting welcome email & admin cannot find the member purchase in WP #31636luluzoomMemberI just wanted to ask and add: since the member paid while logged in as free member but used a different email address to make the purchase through PayPal, will they get another welcome email… or… a complete registration as paid member form link? In this case none of those happened. But everything else works great and I love the plugins so far!
Thanks for your help and suggestions.
April 22, 2011 at 5:32 am in reply to: Member not getting welcome email & admin cannot find the member purchase in WP #31635luluzoomMemberHi,
Yes, I checked the reference text and I have the level ID specified already. I went back to make sure it was the correct ID and it is. But basically it does not show the admin that there is a new member for the paid membership or that there was a purchase for paid membership & does not send welcome emails to customer.
I also checked to make sure that the product ID number for the buy now button is correct and it is.
So let me tell you exact steps I did to make the purchase (Live PayPal purchase. Not testing in PayPal sandbox and not testing in sandbox testing mode in WordPress)
Buyer: Registers for free membership with email x@x–> then makes purchase to paid membership while logged in –> but uses different email address (y@y) to make purchase through PayPal –> y@y gets PayPal receipt but no welcome email from member site & double checks other email address x@x to see if there are any emails there since no welcome email is at y@y –> no upgrade in membership while logged in as free member (not sure if eMember is supposed to do that but thought I’d add that to this post).
Admin: Sees x@x as a registered free member and does not see them as purchasing paid membership. Admin sees that x@x made a purchase for a downloadable PDF file a couple of days ago, but does not see that they made a paid membership purchase.
Are there any other settings I can take a look at? I still don’t see “failure” in logs.
April 22, 2011 at 4:31 am in reply to: Member not getting welcome email & admin cannot find the member purchase in WP #31633luluzoomMemberHi!
The purchase was made with debug enabled, but I cannot find “failure” in the log ( I keep looking.)
Everything works fine for free members; all the emails get sent and login is fine and working. When I make a purchase for a digital product in eStore everything works fine; emails work and I can see the purchase as the admin in eStore…so I am not sure what’s going on. Any other suggestions? Thanks for your help.
