OK,
Thanks very much.
For my kind of website, the protected folder is superb and will save me lots of time. Thanks for adding such a feature.
lolastoneyParticipantHi again,
Sorry I have to post a third time.
I tried this again and I got the same problem. But the following steps worked for me:
1. First, I login as a member to the main site.
2. Tried the download link, got a request for the username and password.
3. Once this was submitted, I got access.
My question: is this the ways it works normally?
The user must me logged into the main site to gain access to the download page?
Thanks for your help.
lolastoneyParticipantHello again,
This has now worked, when I clicked through from this page. I don’t understand it, I tried it throughout yesterday. Could it be because I tested more than one account from my PC – something to do with IP?
lolastoneyParticipantThanks,
Please see below:

lolastoneyParticipantHi, when trying out the download folder protection on a browser, it kept asking for the username and password (even though the ones entered is correct) I have tried to search if anyone has had a similar issue and what can be done to correct this? I have also just done a clean update on the eMember.
lolastoneyParticipantThanks for your response. The users were not registered as WordPress users. However, when I unchecked “Free Members Must Confirm Email”, the issue was solved.
lolastoneyParticipantI have the same issue as in51der:
Whenever anyone tries to register they get the message “The email address you are using is already taken!
This happens although the activation email is sent to the email box.
Please help.
