Thanks for such a fast response, much appreciated!
I’ve just tested it all out and found the following:
– I signed up with another test account using the manual approval process. When I went to the page to approve my affiliate membership, I had a quick look at the length of the ***** password in the field and it was a different number of characters to the one I’d filled in upon registration. I then approved my membership, went to the login page and got the same “invalid login” error message.
– I then signed up with another test account after having turned the manual approval process off. When I went to login immediately after registration, I went straight into the system without any problems.
It looks like you are right and it has something to do with the manual approval process. FYI – the ‘Tax ID’ field also seems to get filled in with the ID of the last user who signed up for the affiliate programme (but I’m not using that one at the moment).
herbhedgerowMemberWas this issue ever resolved for you, tikvah73? I have exactly the same problem.
– I have set to manually approve all affiliates (which I’m fine doing for now)
– When I see that they sign up, I manually approve them in the system
– they then still can’t access their account
One of my affiliates sent me their login/password combo and I’ve tried logging in with it but it doesn’t work – I get the same error.
I have a membership site and I would’ve simply asked users to use the same login/password combo as they do for my membership site but the WP Affiliate login ID doesn’t recognise blank spaces in usernames whereas WordPress Usernames do so they simply weren’t compatible for that reason.
