Thanks for this amazing work around with the short codes add on!
I am actually still trying to download the add-ons for the past few days. Just having difficulty as I am not the person who bought the eStore plug in (that was my boss, so to speak). Anyway, that is why I have not responded sooner but will message back when I get it sorted. Thanks again!
HenryhenrypParticipantThankfully I am not selling Viag** haha!
henrypParticipantYes, I see what you mean. My text is something like – ‘Sorry your download was not working here is a fresh link valid for 48hrs’ – seemed to go through fine through a friend’s gmail but yes, something to think about! Thanks again!
HenryhenrypParticipantHi guys,
wzp – sorry yes I should have said – I was generating the links in the correct way.
I did all the tests, downloaded the email tester plug in and also had a look at my SMTP settings.
Then I checked my Spam folder in Gmail and all the emails have been sent there.I also noticed that in Admin Functions > Send Email to Customers section, the From Email Address field just had ‘ReR Megacorp’ rather than ‘sales@rerdownloads.com’ which I am guessing had something to do with it.
Going to make some more tests using other email addresses to see if they go to spam folders. It looks like ‘sales@rerdownloads.com’ is easy to trigger most people’s spam filters. Perhaps I can change this email address, or invite customers to make sure they check their spam folders. Will research it. Nothing is ever easy is it? 🙂
I want to thank you both for taking the time to help. It is appreciated! I guess this is resolved to some extent!
Thanks

I mean, I have not solved the problem yet short of editing every product by hand. Am a little lost to be honest with what you said 🙂
July 26, 2021 at 8:29 am in reply to: Reinstalled WP eStore plugin now all shortcodes have changed #83399henrypParticipantAlright, thanks very much for the response. I have downloaded that plugin.
Problem is with replacing the code,
“For example, you can search for the following:
[wp_eStore:product_id:1244:end]
Then replace that with the following:
[wp_eStore_buy_now_button id=1244]”Each product has a unique ID eg: [wp_eStore:product_id:01:end], [wp_eStore:product_id:02:end] etc all the way until [wp_eStore:product_id:3800:end]
So with this in mind, I am guessing it is impossible to mass edit these shortcodes?
Thanks again for your help!
henryMay 11, 2015 at 6:57 pm in reply to: eStore – how to find out what country a purchase comes from? #69785henrypParticipantHi again, Ok thanks – I just checked out the transaction record. Found the IPs so I could find where the countries were from that. I also just set up Google Analytics which looks a little more efficient so I hope to get the hang of that and just use that.
Many thanks – I guess we can mark this as resolved.
Best,
henry
May 8, 2015 at 10:00 am in reply to: eStore – how to find out what country a purchase comes from? #69783henrypParticipantHi again , I am still yet to solve this one. I tried using the Table Rate Tax Addon but it has not worked. Seems like a bit of a convolutd workaround just to find out the country the customrs are from. Is there any other way for me to pull this info from? Seems like it should be simple…
(also – not sure why the plug in would not be working at all?)
April 28, 2015 at 9:02 am in reply to: eStore – how to find out what country a purchase comes from? #69782henrypParticipantYes, like that. I had seen that add-on and was thinking of using. Only I think we are not adding the tax to the customer, it is rather for our own reference. Still I could set the tax at 0 then just have them select the country that way. Perhaps this is the best way to go. Thanks

December 17, 2012 at 7:33 pm in reply to: eStore – extra paragraphs being added in front of product ID shortcode #52259henrypParticipantNo, I dont need to change the ID value. I probably didnt explain properly but am trying to change the shortcode in all 200 of my posts. The shortcode from [wp_eStore:product_id:2909:end] (which is adding in spaces)
to
[wp_eStore_buy_now_button id=]
Just wondering if there is any other way round it
December 16, 2012 at 2:10 pm in reply to: eStore – extra paragraphs being added in front of product ID shortcode #52257henrypParticipantI have followed the video and imported the file into spreadsheet. But, there is no option here to change the product id code. Only prices and data located in the manage add/edit products section. Do i need a different file to change the product shortcodes?
thanks
December 12, 2012 at 5:13 pm in reply to: eStore – extra paragraphs being added in front of product ID shortcode #52255henrypParticipantThat is pretty annoying they should change it. Now they look different and do not ‘go’ with the rest of my content so much. Also I have to change over 200 product ID’s on my site? Is there any other way?
December 12, 2012 at 1:25 pm in reply to: eStore – extra paragraphs being added in front of product ID shortcode #52254henrypParticipantHmm yes I think indeed it is/was the theme adding the spaces.
(Version of eStore is latest I believe)
I changed the shortcode to the new one, yes I believe this was the problem as using a new one, the spaces have disappeared. Great!
Just have to edit all album pages now – doh!
Thanks for the help!

November 15, 2012 at 2:45 pm in reply to: eStore – not creating and sending download links, nor can I generate manually #51209henrypParticipantOk thanks for replying again.
I have just been reading that post you linked. Someone, Ivy, says :
“When “Auto Redirect” is turned on PayPal does not post the data needed by the eStore to display the links on the “Post Payment/Thank You Page”. PayPal only sends this information when the “Return to Merchant button or link is clicked. Remember the eStore will never display or send out the links if the sale can not be fully verified.”
So now I am not sure. I guess I can test it though.
Everything still seems rather unclear about the URL on the Auto Return Paypal function. Say my client has 3 sites, if 1 site has specified a link to return to..then surely the other 2 would now have to have their own return pages specified also…right?
